Do We still Draft of Sign a QB

Ask me this at the end of the regular season.

Regardless of what happens with Troy, the 49ers would be foolish to not a draft a QB between the 1st and 4th rounds next year. You can't bet the future of the franchise on only half a season of success (if Troy is indeed successful). The only thing Troy's play should be dictating now is whether we draft a QB in rounds 1/2 or 3/4.

Yes. Whether the qb position is played by Troy, Alex or some FA, the near future of the 49ers is wearing a college uniform right now.

Way too early to conclude. We'll know by the end of the season. If we had to make a decision today then I say we still MUST sign a QB in the draft. At the very least a quality developmental project.

This draft is very deep for Qb's. I hope they take a QB in the 3rd or 4th round. There seems to be guys like Andy Dalton, Pat Devlin, Stanzi, Ponder to be had. Why spend that much money on a qb when you can develop them. I didn't like the Carr move as a back up but Smith and David have ability.

They need to take a shutdown corner. I would rather take a corner with a high pick versus a QB.

Someone to apply the heat on the line like we have with Justin Smith but faster even though we play a 3-4 we need another dominant Defensive end.

Bruce Gradkowski as a Free Agent and a 3rd or 4th round draft pick.

We defiantly have to draft a QB. I wouldn't mind having Troy Smith as a stop gap. I would love for us to draft Cam Newtown as the QB to build it around. He's a special football player with enormous potential, hes the prototype 6-5 250 Rocket arm, mobile, and has the IT factor and is a leader and big time playmaker

I have always believed that the 49ers will draft a QB in the next draft, regardless of how Alex Smith (and now Troy Smith) performs. Now it's clear that management will draft one in the first round next year.

Uhhhh... yeah. All our QB's suck! Knowing our organization though A Smith will start for another year :(
