well they can't compare to you, even stoney looks like a bandwagon fan when it comes to your commitment to the Lakers...

A bandwagon fan would cheer for Golden State and their totally absurd and ridiculous BIG 5. Which I don't. I actually cheer against them and hope others take them down (which won't happen this year for sure). One great player on this team (Lebron) along with a bunch of improving but unproven overall young players is hardly a bandwagon team. Golden State is the Bandwagon team of all time. I think what they have done is out of control and bad for competition and terrible for the NBA and basketball. So eventually it would be great to see them get raided in free agency and taken down a few pegs. Which will happen eventually. Just not soon enough.

Well this is uncalled for.

~ Add Kawhi Leonard.

~ Keep some (but not all) of their key role players and some young talent.
Add this to Lebron and of course importantly subtract 1 from Golden State keeping in mind that Cousins also leaves Golden State. So they are minus 2. The Lakers add 2 big time stars to Lebron.
I would actually love to see this happen and hope that it does. I think it would be great for the NBA and fun to see.
How can they add this to their cap? Or can they add this to their team? Leonard has Riverside (Southern CA) connections. Klay Thompson has L.A. connections. How likely is this and how does it fit into their cap if they can pull it off?
No they can't add two max players in FA...BUT what they can do is - land a max FA first (hopefully Kawhi) and then trade for a disgruntled super-star. So, if Anthony Davis asks to be traded - Lakers would have the pieces to go for him.
I think BI and Kuzma are going to be stars very soon so I'd hold onto them. But, if it looks like they're couple years away - Lakers May think about it.

If they can get a disgruntled guy on a lower deal who just wants to get out and join the Lakers for a chance to win maybe they will do it. I hope they have an opportunity like that. You like Kawhi Leonard better than Klay Thompson? I guess Kawhi brings a bit more perhaps including oustanding defense. But Thompson is a pretty excellent defender too. Maybe not quite in the Kawhi category though. Kawhi is probably more athletic and can create more on his own on offense. But Klay Thompson can shoot the lights out from 3. With Lebron driving in and drawing attention and kicking out to an open Klay Thompson I could see that working pretty well.

I think Kawhi is a top 7 player in the league who can shoot 40% from the 3 and be the best perimeter defender in the league. Klay is probably around 15th best player in the league and will be a great backup plan but I just don't see him leaving the Warriors.

I probably would take Kawhi as a 1st choice. He is such a great perimeter defender. He is also a great athlete and can create on his own on offense. But Klay Thompson is no slouch as a perimeter defender himself. Also Klay can shoot the 3 as good as anybody in this league with the exception of maybe the guy he plays with now (Curry).

I would take Klay or KL on this team. He's exactly what we need with Bron and our other ball handlers. We don't need another guy who needs the ball in their hand to be great. An athletic catch and shoot guy who can play solid defense is exactly what this team needs, especially one who can guard PGs/SGs. KL is a better defender, but I rather have Klay on a quick PG than KL who's better suited inside and against SGs/SFs, and we already have people who can defend those positions.

I just don't see Klay leaving. He has a perfect role with Warriors. And, Kawhi hit 41% of his 3s the last two years he was healthy on high volume of almost five 3s a game. This is when he has to create some of these shots himself..rather than get spot up open 3s like Klay. I think Klay is the 2nd greatest 3pt shooter of all time but Kawhi can do so much more. I think you pass on Kawhi next year for Durant only.

Luke is throwing a lot of different lineups on the court in the first half. Similar to the last 2 preseasons. He looks like he's trying to see who looks good with who. Lebron I think played the whole first quarter and the last 6 minutes of the 2nd.
