Lebron vs. His Airness

LeBron is a better person than MJ. One guy posted a story about seeing MJ at some Charity Golf Tournament or something like that. He took his Jordans off and ran up to Mike like "Hey can you sign my shoe?" Mike replied "Man get that s**t out of my face."

lol I like how you conveniently made Bill Russell a PF so you could have Shaq on your 3rd team. Hes really the 5th or 6th best center ever.

Its more like:

PG- Magic Johnson
SG- Michael Jordan
SF- Larry Bird
PF- Tim Duncan
C- Kareem Abdul-Jabbar

PG- Oscar Robertson
SG- Kobe Bryant
SF- Julius Erving
PF- Karl Malone
C- Bill Russell

PG- Isiah Thomas
SG- Jerry West
SF- LeBron James
PF- Bob Pettit
C- Wilt Chamberlain

lol. you really believe that WIlt, Russel, would have a chance against guarding Shaq or trying to score on him? That's funny.

These are the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd team selections. I dont care who couldve guarded who. Its purely about the best of all time. Id rank Hakeem over him too, and if you view Duncan as more of a C, Shaq falls to 6th right ahead of Moses Malone.

Shaq was great, but he was lazy. He could've been top 3, but basketball wasnt his only passion in life. He also needed a co-superstar to win titles.

i guess. though, none of these guys from the 50s and 60s would be great. and as much as i love West, him and Russel would have a hard time to even be part of a NBA rotation.

and i don't understand the co-superstar argument. how many championships exactly did MJ win without Pippen? or Lebron without Wade/Bosh? Magic without Kareem? Bird without McHale? and the same goes for other team sports as well. this isn't the 50s, when one player makes the rest look like midgets and is able to do it all by himself.
Here's how I see it.

Jordan can do pretty much everything Kobe can do and I think that works vice versa except that Jordan was a little more physically explosive.

Neither of them can do things that Lebron can do but physically, Lebron can do anything those guys can do.

The one part the Lebron lacks that Jordan and Kobe have is the mentality towards things.

Lebron is basically Magic Johnsons mentality combined with the best athletic ability ever in the NBA.

So you're saying Kobe and Jordan's mentality towards things is greater than Magic's.

I think lebron has a chance to catch MJ but he is way behind right now with some significant blemishes. MJ was cold blooded vicious and relentless. He never had to have a pat on the back or someone prodding him about his mentality. LBJ was made better mentally from his MIA experiences with Wade and Riley. What I noticed last year though was LBJ allowed Kawhi Leonard to check him one on one down the stretch of the Finals games and still won the Finals MVP. MJ would never allow himself to be checked then defeated then have the MVP go to his primary defender. Even in defeat MJ would have hung 50 on Kawhi and forced double and triple teams all series long. No way LBJ with a 40lb weight advantage should have allowed Kawhi to check him without a double team. He should have abused this guy on the block. I ain't saying Lebron can't catch MJ but I didn't like what I saw last year. He still has a lot of time to grab 4 more chips.

I also firmly believe had MJ not left basketball after his father was killed for baseball he would have won 8 straight chips. HOU definitely benefitted from his first retirement. Hakeem has even told us MJ was better. They also said you couldn't be scoring champ and win the chip the same year. MJ did it six times and was the 6 time Finals MVP. LBJ got some work to do

Yup. A couple years ago, Kobe had a chance to be up there with Jordan, but injuries and lack of a good team, pretty much put an end to that. Still, Lebron hasn't accomplished the things Kobe has, or other greats of the past have either. When it's all said and done, if he stays healthy and keeps winning, he'll pass Kobe, Duncan, Magic, Hakeem, and possibly even MJ, but he ain't there yet.

LeBron got the body to keep playing at a very high level until he is 35 just like MJ. LeBron won't retire from the game twice like MJ did so he has a chance to catch MJ playing out East he will get to the Finals annually. Once he is there all he needs is 4 wins and right now folk are flocking to CLE to help him get just that
