Right, and im saying Posey will be too someday.

I just explained that my vote for Posey was based around where I expect him to be after his career is over.

Being one of the greatest catchers of all time with at least 3 rings is going rank over McCovey.

Yeah but you're annoyed that Yankee fans vote Jeter?

Jeter is the 5th best Yankee in history. This is asking for the top 4. Id like to see the fans know their history and get it right.
take your Yankee talk to the general MLB thread
Mays, McCovey, Mathewson and Bonds. Someday Posey will take Bonds' spot. But not yet.

A side blurb to one post becomes "Yankee talk" because Garce wants to have a stupid argument.

Theres no way Bonds ever gets edged out of a top 4 Giants of all time list imo.

Love him or hate him, he was the best hitter of a generation, the most feared hitter ever, and a Giants great.

There is no pill, cream, or shot that can give a player that kind of ability.

It just makes no sense why you would pick Posey and turn around and have the nerve to be irritated that Yankee fans would pick Jeter.

I explained it to you!

And I'm telling you it makes no sense. If anything, by the end, Posey will have a career on par with Jeter.

I find it hilarious you would be irritated at Yankee fans for doing the same thing you're doing with Posey, except speculating the rest of his career.

lol Garce, theyre 2 seperate sets of players with seperate circumstances. Its apples to oranges. Jeter will never be a top 4 Yankee. That ship has sailed.

Posey WILL be a top 4 Giants player by the time his career is over, IMO. I didnt put him on that ballot. MLB.com did. If you want to keep it unspeculative, take Posey off the ballot until he retires.

Jeter does not belong in any Yankees top 4. Thats a fact. It has no bearing on whether Posey is a top 4 Giant now, or in the future.

Moving on.

I know. I just get confused by how simple things get misunderstood.

and he will never go into the HOF, and he never won a ring. He was a 500 HR guy with amazing talent. No doubt. But he will always be looked at as a cheater outside your generation in SF. I enjoyed watching him as well, but it is what it is.
awesome stuff

#sfgiants are producing a "LON" patch for uniforms to honor Lon Simmons, and hope they are ready for home opener Monday.

source: Garce's lover.

With or without PED's, he is the only member of the 500/500 club in baseball history.

Its sad that even some Giants fans view him the same way the national media does. We witnessed it first hand. There is no steroid for being THAT good. A whole generation of players tried.

The game of baseball itself is one big unfair advantage. Stadiums are all different sizes. Era's vary dramatically, from whites only, to a higher pitching mound, to greenies and cocaine, to modern PED's. It's impossible to shine a light on all cheaters, because there have been so many in all era's, doing about every different type of cheating you think of. Its part of the games history.

How many HR's came from Hank Aaron playing in a stadium called "The launching pad" for most his career? How many HR's did Bonds lose in the winds at Candlestick or AT&T?

The things Bonds did here were historic. Just his pure ability might never be seen again. I choose to recognize that talent regardless of the PED's. It's unfortunate that he decided to even the playing field with his peers, and taint his own legacy, but to just stamp "cheater" across his career isnt the right way to remember him.
