Go vote the 4 most impactful players in Giants history. Not going to lie, it was harder than I thought. I didn't vote McCovey. I couldn't not vote for Mays, Bonds, Ott, and Mathewson.

I voted Mays, Bonds, Mathewson, Posey. Obviously I know Posey doesnt have HOF numbers yet, but after his career is over, I think you will be able to call him a top 4 player in franchise history, because of the titles.

To me that vote was 3 no brainers, and then a debate as to whether the 3 titles and being on his way to the Hall someday was good enough to edge out guys like McCovey.

If Yankees fans leave one of Ruth, Gehrig, DiMaggio, or Mantle out for Jeter I will be annoyed.

To me, jerseys are safe if you have a good feel for a guy who is a great player, and will be around a while. I knew what kind of special talent Posey was probably going to be coming through the minors, and after a couple months in the Majors to confirm things, I ordered a Posey road authentic. I knew that he was going to be a great player based off what I saw in 2010, and I knew the Giants keep great players longterm.

Jerseys are even better if you can get a legend. In this case, Posey's jersey will be a throwback someday. It will never go out of style. With Gore, hes the greatest RB in Niners history. He spent 10 great years here, and his jersey wont go out of style.

Because of the titles. Every Yankee has titles coming out of their butts. If Gehrig had no titles, id say Jeter's 5 rings gives him an edge.

DiMaggio - 9 rings
Mantle - 7 rings
Ruth - 7 rings
Gehrig - 6 rings

Jeter - 5 rings

I just explained that my vote for Posey was based around where I expect him to be after his career is over.

Being one of the greatest catchers of all time with at least 3 rings is going rank over McCovey.
