The NFL has begun unveiling its NFL Top 100 Players of 2026, and San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy landed at No. 85. The ranking marks Purdy's return to the annual list after a one-year absence, although it's a notable drop from his career-high No. 28 ranking in 2024.

"He has such a quiet confidence about him," fullback Kyle Juszczyk said in an interview for the reveal. "There's so many little things that go into being the quarterback of the Niners, being able to handle all the motions and the snap points, and the way that [head coach] Kyle [Shanahan] wants plays read out, and he handles all of that just so well."
Purdy started only nine games last season while battling a turf toe injury. Despite the setback, he completed 69.4 percent of his passes for 2,167 yards, 20 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions.
His contributions late in the season helped the 49ers secure a playoff berth and earn a postseason victory over the Philadelphia Eagles.
Since entering the NFL, Purdy has thrown for 11,685 yards, 84 touchdowns, and 37 interceptions, establishing himself as one of the league's most productive young quarterbacks.
"Anybody that gets in that Niners system, people find a way to discredit them just because of how good Kyle Shanahan is, and they've always had a lot of talent around him," Las Vegas Raiders defensive end Maxx Crosby said. "But you've seen Brock, in his own right, make some plays and do certain things that are not just system-quarterback type plays.
"He's one of the better young quarterbacks in the league. He's talented. You see that with how great that offense is able to operate."
Purdy is the first 49ers player to be revealed in the NFL Top 100 Players of 2026, with additional San Francisco players expected to appear as the countdown continues.
