Well so far in this thread a lot of what I have said is being said here so if have nothing to add of substance. I just don't want to see us roll out great locker room guys and football players ever again vs SEA rolling out RAS athletes that they coach up and boat race us with. They been doing that to us since LOB days

The 49ers have drafted a s**t ton of RAS athletes. That's not why they don't have any young impact players.

Our front office (Lynch + Shanahan) makes way too many emotional decisions about the players they want to keep/extend (35 yr/old Juszczyk still on the team come on) because it seems that they get attached to some players and ignore everyone else (CMC is washed as a RB but he gets 95% of the carries) and they never have a plan for the inmediate future.
I know Shanahan won't go anywhere anytime soon and I know that he won't change so this is an issue that is impossible to fix.
A lot of good points made there. I disagree on the CMC one. He's excellent. But playing behind a horrible offensive line. Which they ignore.

Ladies and Germs !!
It really doesn't matter who we bring and who we draft year after year... IF all them keep gettin hurt, then it's really nothing we can do.. but year after year, it's the injuries... and start accepting the fact that it is Shanny's FAITH to not GET a RING here.. when it's not meant to be, it is not meant to be!! it's that EASY !!
Shanny is the MODERN DAY Air Coryell and/or Marty Schottenheimer.. no matter how good a job he does, something UNFORTUNATE will happen.. if you all think about it.. they already have!!
Not that he already is a great decision making coach, just look at the UNFORTUNATE EVENTS...
The Matt Ryan Sack
The Grappy Pass
The Blown Coverage
The Ref NOT calling a Holding Call
The Drop INT
The Blown Assignment
It is what it is..

Niner secondary often looks like a unit that is playing backyard football. They simply run around the field hoping to get off the field- often out of position and unprepared. I don't believe they have a clue what the offense is trying to do and that's on Saleh. I've never looked at this secondary and came away impressed, like this unit is buttoned up, on the same page and executing the game plan.
Niners played one of the easiest schedules in the NFL this season and I believe that contributed to the team making the playoffs but also masked a lot of the stink coming from Saleh's defense. Saleh's defense faced some awful qb's this season.
I hate to say it but Saleh looked pretty average without all world defensive players. I would not be crushed if Bob Saleh moved on.

Painful to read this but difficult to disagree. The Shanahan era has worn every dopamine receptor in my brain to dust. Every time I see another player go down to injury on the field, I'm flabbergasted and numb- how does this keep happening ? what type of curse does this team have over them.
Do I honestly believe next season will be any different? absolutely not. I expect another injury riddled season.

Youth is a bigger gamble than veteran. We are constantly in win now mode.
2026 Playoffs (and season) illustrated to me how winning consistently finally caught up to many of the recent powerhouses. History illustrates atleast half these Newcomers will miss the postseason this time next year. Who can sustain winning like we have.

One major flaw and something that needs to change is the lack of turnovers. This may go along with the lack of a pass rush but it seems like the Niners players are never in position to grab those tipped passes or fumbles. Always a little late or they can't hang on to them.

Have to figure out the injuries. We'll never win a SB if every year we're fighting through all our best players being hurt. It doesn't matter how good or bad we draft if all the players get hurt anyway. This is the #1 priority imo and the biggest reason we haven't won a championship.

hanging onto aging, injury prone stars a year or two too long doesn't help

) none of it matters. That's the most important thing of team building and we don't have it with Shany/Lynch. In fact we are very sub par there by league wide average. Nowhere near the elite groups like Howie Roseman.
lol your lack of self awareness is truly remarkable

Biggest flaw is what it's always been.
the offensive line sucks.
Fix it and all the sudden Purdy has more time and we run the ball better.

You know who else hasn't had good drafts recently. The Chiefs. Why? Because they've been drafting near the end of each round for several years. Same as the 49ers.
