That scares me because I don't trust Shanahan and Lynch's draft picking. Yes, we are moving into a rebuilding not a retooling . . . and to me that is not a two year process, it's a 3 year process, not 2027 but 2028 is when they'll be back and only IF they nail the draft.

They just handed over the biggest deal in franchise history to Brock. Toss in a big fat raise for Kittle and Fred.

That's a completely unserious take….not making ONE trade at ONE deadline (even though they've made multiple trades this season) does not equal rebuilding. Rebuilding teams aren't 6-3. They've been infusing youth back into the team since the 2024 draft. This team is near the top in rookie snaps played this yr.

I really don't understand these takes.

A DE like Hendrickson and a S would make us real hard to beat. But nope.

They would need more then two players and once in your in the playoffs you're playing real teams. Its pointless, theres a point where you just have too many injuries to fill and there beyond that.

But they did add two players in Ferrell and White, adding another would be more than two.

On the flip side, we've seen plenty of crazy playoff runs by underdogs over the last 20 years (yes even in between the Chiefs/Patriots dominant runs). Sure the realist says we'll get blown out in the wild card or divisional round once we get there but in single-elimination playoffs you never really know. We shouldn't be taking any playoff trip lightly. If we lose we already know what the story will be (injuries, etc) but until the season is over this team should be trying to win, period.

Those are just depth players, when depth players are potentially starting you're in trouble.

The entire team is hurt. At all the key positions. We have a very weak schedule. We won multiple extremely close games at the end with defense and special teams. Record could be a lot worse. It is likely a rebuild. Too many older, injured players on this team. We need a young, healthy team and don't have it right now. We are rebuilding right now.

You can't be in the top of the league with rookie snaps played (this was also at the beginning of the year) and say too many old players in the same breath….and who's "old" that we're truly depending on besides Trent?

fans have no clue what rebuilding even means lol. The jets are rebuilding. This is such and unserious take
Folks do realize it doesn't have to be all-in or rebuild…there's a bunch of other scenarios in between all that

Well many don't realize it, but it's true. We're there right now.
Looks like there are people in the building that are also mad we didn't make a trade.

Would love it if they signed DeMarcus Walker and Asante Samuel Jr.. That would make me feel a little bit better at least.
The idea that the York family is cheap is ridiculous. They've had some of the highest paid players at their positions in the league. They currently have over $100 million in dead cap money. The highest in the league. The realization set in that the needed to be smarter on how they spend. They can't keep giving top salaries to players that don't produce. Neither Deebo or Aiyuk are what I consider top tier receivers but they got paid like they were. Kittle and Bosa are top tier players but they keep missing games because of injuries. All this stuff eventually will drag the team down.

Teams all around the league are building more with cheaper, younger players. Draft then and control their salary for 4 years. That gives them plenty of time to prove their value. If they don't then let them walk after tha rookie contract expires. Just don't keep over paying.

Kittle injured, Bosa injured, Trent usually is for years in a row, Juice is getting older, Warner now hurt. This team is injured and older at multiple KEY positions. Their young guys are injured too. Because it's what the 49ers do. Get injured.

Hendrickson would require a 1 or a 2 plus he is a one-year expensive rental. One trade was not going to really change the trajectory of this year's team. We are also a little tight on cap space the next couple of years. A far a the easiest schedule that is based off of last year teams change. I am not sure anyone had Carolina on their playoff bingo card. Teams on our schedule in the playoff hunt Rams twice, Seacocks twice, Tampa bay, Carolina, Bears, Colts, Jags, plus twice against the Cards and all division games are tough.

I second that. A lot been questioned about Samuel's spinal fusion, but having had one myself, and having doctors clear him, his health wouldn't be too much of a concern to me. Probably come relatively cheap, too.
