I agree. But at the same time, if a trade offer involving a package of picks comes rolling along, I can see Shanahan approving that. Especially if one of those picks is in the first round. Look what Seattle did with the QB that Kyle rehabbed because nobody else wanted him. One year under Shanahan is all it took. That rehab QB goes to the Vikings and leads them to the playoffs. Then that Kyle-rehabbed QB gets a sweet deal with Seattle and it results in a Super Bowl. That cannot be lost on other teams around the league. Mac Jones could take someone to the promised land. Proof is in the pudding.

The fact AZ would rather just stand pat with Brissett and a retread Minshew instead of upgrading to a better QB Mac, wow they are dumb.

Maybe the 49ers don't want to trade Mac to a division rival. Would you do that? So you get to face him twice a season for God knows who long? I wouldn't. So, perhaps AZ made a tempting offer and Kyle just said "NOPE." I wouldn't be surprised. Pittsburgh would be an ideal spot for Mac. So would the Jets. As well as the Browns. Don't forget about Miami. There are many AFC teams that Kyle could choose, providing Mac signs off on the deal.

I wouldn't want to trade him to Arizona but if they're willing to give a 2nd rounder & Wilson I would. Not too worried about getting torched by Mac Jones twice a year, good grief he's not that good.

Lol at the bolded. Yes, if someone is dumb enough to give up multiple picks one of them being a first round, we all can see Kyle approving that. In fact, not approving that would be grounds for being fired on the spot.

If he's so good why was he available. Very little NFL experience.

I cannot explain it. I can only tell you what I see. Malik did not look good with the team that drafted him. He was very pedestrian with the Titans. But he really opened my eyes when he went to the Packers. With every chance he received, Malik looked like a real NFL QB. You could see the talent. Why did he play poorly for the Titans, but look like all-world with the Packers? I don't know. I really don't. I can only relate what I saw.

Heard the same thing about Darnold when he left the 49ers for the Vikings on a one-year "prove it" deal. Darnold would never be able to duplicate what he did with the 49ers. Look at Darnold now.

That said, the 49ers window for dealing Mac for a Kings Ransom is closing fast. They either have to get it done during the draft or later during TC. Because, after that, QB needy teams will just wait it out. Mac's contract with the 49ers will end. He will get signed by someone else. The 49ers will receive nada. Zip.

What the Niners will get is insurance for the next year gains Purdy getting injured. By the way, I don't think that a Kings ransom is on offer.

On offer? Or an offer? How about I would like to see the 49ers gain a third round pick in the upcoming draft for the third rounder they dealt to Dallas? Is that doable?

I think the issue with that is that if we keep Mac it's entirely possible he gets paid next year in Free Agency and we get a 3rd round comp from that.
