QB Brock Purdy Thread

Nothing small sample size about BCB imo. Lolol. The only reason BCB is not the long term guy rn is obviously his injury. Trey would defo been a backup. I bet anything we would have won against Philly had there not been such a cluster cluck of events. And a Mahomes/Brock showdown would have been awesome. So damn close.

Yeah, really sucks that he got hurt. Created this drama circus with people thinking Lance has a chance and robbed us of a possible super bowl appearance/win. It's all good. He's still young and dirt cheap for three more years. If he continues to improve, it's going to be an awesome next few years.

Yeah, I am so not into the qb drama lolol. Have no idea why ppl would wanna invest energy into that. Like Jimmy G is gone, now gotta replace all that drama with new drama. No thanks. I thought football was supposed to be fun? Lol. Pretty sure the qbs themselves have less drama. I just can't read most of the long ass posts online that are redundant and sometimes drama-y. Chill out and have some Bdubs.

Speaking of which, nachos sound damn good rn lol. Stanley Cup Playoffs tonight..not that I am into it much but Vegas is in:) Whooot.

We've kept 3 QB's before and IMO would be smart to do again.

I think our opponents will be looking to hit Purdy often and hard.

How is that different from any other QB?

No to PUP, the moment he's ready he needs to be active, you don't mess around with a week or 2 to save a roster spot. Your starting QB is much more valuable than that.

Unless they actually need those couple weeks to get back into football form. Let's not roll out the RG3 plan. You make damn sure he's 100% AND in football shape both physically/mentally before tossing him out there.

Absolutely, but you don't let PUP dictate your timeline, as soon as he's ready he should be dressed.

I try to just keep it to the facts and discuss the situation, peoples expectations, my opinion/interpretation of things. It can be fun to talk about that stuff on here but people get defensive and attack if you don't feel the same way they do or like the same player.

The only reason why he isn't the clear #1 is because of his injury. His play last year earned the right to be QB1, but his injury changes that.

Until Sam or Trey prove to be better the injury hasn't changed anything

Exponentially improve. Lol they have to show they can at least operate the offense as efficiently as Jimmy did, which is going to be tough. He was better than some like to give him credit for, even though he has limitations.

I've said it many times, I don't view this qb competition as one for QB1. That's Brock's until he proves otherwise, the competition is for qb2. Which could be rewarded with some starts if Purdy has any hiccups. I can't wait for him to start throwing

I don't think Treys injury will have lingering effects, but if it does, his career is essentially over. He can't be effect solely operating from the pocket at this point. Like at all.

maybe his new mechanics and whatever else he's been working on will help. We will find out soon.

Yea the competition is for if Brock isn't ready. There's nothing these guys can do in practice that can replace what Brock did in real games and the playoffs. They'd have to be completing behind the back passes or something to take the job in practice.

Brock was never part of a competition, he just got his shot to play and took it. Sam or Trey will have to earn the job in the same fashion

I think we would've beaten Philly. Not sure we'd have done better than they did in the Superbowl though.

I think Brock will get better, but I do think he'll need to for us to compete with the elite AFC guys.

Yeah, I just worry about KC because Mahommes can put up so many points in the blink of an eye.

im excited to see how he looks after an off season of studying and prep, at least as much as he can without throwing for a while.
