Maybe it is because I am much older than when I first posted on these forums, but to watch a 3-5 team come from s**tsville, population us, to have a shot at going back to the Super Bowl, I cannot complain. It hurts, but, not that bad. Again, maybe it is because I am older, but, I have to tell you that we have been playing with house money for the better part of two months. And boy did we gamble. And boy did we win. We sent home the Cowboys and the Packers. With both occurring before their fans. And we did it with Jimmy G. Jimmy G is the gunslinger who has probably fewer bullets in his gun then he thinks he has. You get the good, you get the border line crazy good throw, but you also get the bad, and you get the ugly. But, he got us there. We needed more. He could not deliver. I reckon that Jimmy will net us a pick or two, and I bet they are higher than most think. Nonetheless, his time is over. Thank you. Jimmy. But now the big gamble takes center stage. Now it is Trey's time. In final summation, it is easy to get mad at one guy, but we had bonehead s**t going on all game. Tartt and Ward come to mind. But s**t, nobody is perfect. At the end of the day, we, as a team, did not finish the deal. And that is all there really is to it. I need time off to decompress. So do you. You know I love you. None of us expected to get here. It was a good season. To make to the NFCCG and lose sucks but at least we can look forward to the changes for 2023. Trey and we definitely need to retool that secondary.

I've liked the Forty-Niners ever since I went to my first and only NFL game in 1993 ... sitting at the 50 yard line. I find American sports 'fans' to be more like abusive partners than supporters. Granted there really is no abusee (unless the organization bothers to listen to sports talk radio as a matter of course), but its just laughable to hear people gripe about some lack of this or that. The sport is hard and grueling. The team played its guts out.

Same. I expected 8-9 at best after the 3-5 start. This whole ride has been like a mini 2011.

Looking forward to a different vibe on offense next year.

It's not so much I'm pissed at the loss, it's the manner in which they did.
Certain things needed to happen to secure the W, with 6+ minutes left.
Yet certain players did things contrary to the cause of advancing to SB
LVI

It was a fun season; a cardiac rollercoaster ride. I have no doubt this will
be an interesting off-season for the Niners. Wake me up when it's April …

This. Tired of consolation prizes. Shanahan is a far bigger problem than Jimmy. Jimmy will be gone. We're stuck with this flat brimmed over hyped loser who skated by because his rookie DC carried him.

I was angry during that 4th but I've calmed down.

Love this team. Lots of players with heart.

You can't count on next year. 2020 showed us that. You gotta capitalize when you get there and this team never does. And I don't think it will with shanahan going fetal position and fully autistic routinely. They were less than a quarter away. In the super bowl; in this game.

They always blow it.
