They were a top 4 NFL team. If you consider this season "blown" you need to buy a perspective. It was a Hell of a ride.
Kyle will be in the lab all off season redesigning our offense into the one he's always wanted. We will look completely different next year, Trey's skill set is not suited for the offense we currently run. I for one am excited to see what we look like.
This game, more than any game this season, proved that QB play is what is holding this team back. It is not coaching. In order for us to beat this Rams team, we must be able to run the ball. JG was never going to beat them with his arm, with that pass rush, when the run wasn't working. If the run is working, then everything else opens up. The play calling and game strategy was built around the only way that we could win.

Yeah, JG has been a part of a lot of wins. But he is also the player most holding us back. If we can get a 2nd or 3rd round pick for him, I'll be happy. We also get his contract off the books. Which means we can lock up players like Deebo. Maybe pick up some OL and DB help in FA. Then, it's the Trey Lance show. Might take the kid some losses before he reaches his full potential. But I think we'll be very competitive for the next few years.

Great season, but the Rams played like the better team tonight. Tough pill to swallow. But at least it was a good game, and you can't say we got robbed.
As soon as we beat the Rams to get into the playoffs I felt that it was all gravy. Beating the Boys and the Pack was quite a ride. Do I wish we could've won it all? Of course, but if Trey pans out we should be contenders for the next few years.

This, actual facts

Same. I expected 8-9 at best after the 3-5 start. This whole ride has been like a mini 2011.

Looking forward to a different vibe on offense next year.

This thread is about being proud of this year's team. Negative pessimists need not post here when there are dozens of other threads with different topics to do so.

I agree, the Niners biggest Achilles heel is that they can only win one way, our pass game and run game do not function independently of one another, As Greg Cosell has pointed out numerous times.

Maybe it is because I am much older than when I first posted on these forums, but to watch a 3-5 team come from s**tsville, population us, to have a shot at going back to the Super Bowl, I cannot complain. It hurts, but, not that bad. Again, maybe it is because I am older, but, I have to tell you that we have been playing with house money for the better part of two months.

And boy did we gamble. And boy did we win. We sent home the Cowboys and the Packers. With both occurring before their fans.

And we did it with Jimmy G. Jimmy G is the gunslinger who has probably fewer bullets in his gun then he thinks he has. You get the good, you get the border line crazy good throw, but you also get the bad, and you get the ugly. But, he got us there. We needed more. He could not deliver. I reckon that Jimmy will net us a pick or two, and I bet they are higher than most think. Nonetheless, his time is over. Thank you. Jimmy.

But now the big gamble takes center stage. Now it is Trey's time.

In final summation, it is easy to get mad at one guy, but we had bonehead s**t going on all game. Tartt and Ward come to mind. But s**t, nobody is perfect. At the end of the day, we, as a team, did not finish the deal. And that is all there really is to it.

I need time off to decompress. So do you. You know I love you. Go home. Hug your loved ones, play with the dog or cat, or love the one you are with, and drive safely.

I'll see you next season.

Adios.

Proud of JG, despite the injuries he went to battle for us. Didn't get the ending we wanted but I appreciate his display of heart and passion.

Proud we have fans like you.

Most un-evil. Agree.

I, on the other hand, love that post.

This is such flawed thinking though. Nothing is given in the nfl. You have to capitalize when you're there and this team continually crumbles. It was easier watching them flounder for 9 years

I'd much rather be in the playoffs and have a shot than see 2003-2010 ever again.

I mean, come on now.

I remember fans bagging on the team 1995-1998 for losing in the playoffs. Little did they know there would be only *TWO* playoff appearances from 1999-2010.
