Maybe it is because I am much older than when I first posted on these forums, but to watch a 3-5 team come from s**tsville, population us, to have a shot at going back to the Super Bowl, I cannot complain. It hurts, but, not that bad. Again, maybe it is because I am older, but, I have to tell you that we have been playing with house money for the better part of two months. And boy did we gamble. And boy did we win. We sent home the Cowboys and the Packers. With both occurring before their fans. And we did it with Jimmy G. Jimmy G is the gunslinger who has probably fewer bullets in his gun then he thinks he has. You get the good, you get the border line crazy good throw, but you also get the bad, and you get the ugly. But, he got us there. We needed more. He could not deliver. I reckon that Jimmy will net us a pick or two, and I bet they are higher than most think. Nonetheless, his time is over. Thank you. Jimmy. But now the big gamble takes center stage. Now it is Trey's time. In final summation, it is easy to get mad at one guy, but we had bonehead s**t going on all game. Tartt and Ward come to mind. But s**t, nobody is perfect. At the end of the day, we, as a team, did not finish the deal. And that is all there really is to it. I need time off to decompress. So do you. You know I love you. I know right. I was born in 88. Their last SB was when I was 6. I was rockin niners gear because of my dad, but I didn't become a real fan until I was about 9 after the 98' Catch 2 game. From there on I was hooked.

I think this is obvious, but I still think Kyle hasn't assembled his ultimate team yet. What I mean by that is, Andy Reid almost made his in Philly after losing all those NFCCG's there when they acquired TO and other free agents. They lost the SB to the Pats, but that was his best team. Then he created a few more with Mahomes. It was the same thing with Bill Cowher. He lost oodles of playoff games and took him 20 years to win a SB. He finally got it right with a young Big Ben, Mike Wallace, Hines Ward, Polamalu, etc.

I feel that Shanahan is a really good coach and has come close to winning a SB with a Honda Civic at QBv (serviceable but not flashy), up-and-down defenses, poor special teams play (minus these last few playoff games), injuries, COVID year, etc. I think the stars will align one of these seasons and he'll win us #6.

Maybe this offseason Lynch says screw it and gets a big time FA? I know that's not our style, but players see that we are close. Their only reservation might be an unknown in Lance, but they should trust that Kyle has that under control.

Reid and Cowher got rings. That's the thing. Outside of having Tom Brady, your best shot is to make the playoffs every year and one year get lucky. That's why sustained winning is the key.
