Yeah, i also thought it would be more. It's more team friendly than I expected. It's a fair deal for both parties - only real concern is Trent's age.
id be a little surprised if we took an OT in the first round. Even a guard. I fully expect D line or S. I think we take some guard in the fourth, which is usually what we do.
my guess is that it's DE in the 1st and S in the second.
WR/DL/G/RB will be the fourth, IMO.
While I wouldn't hate S based on the talent and where we're picking. I think it's highly unlikely based on being able to find good S later and the value of fhat rookie contract. Same with OG
I think it will be DL/WR in some sort of order
I think it's more likely we would take a S in the second. It's hard to use a first round pick on a S cause the fifth year option cost.
I think there's some talent at S in this draft that we can snag in the 2nd. I'd really like us to get a S who can cover well. Especially with us having a guy like mustapha who can assist with the run so well.

Depends on who's there when they pick.
So you want to draft a OT and convert him to a guard? Like I just posted how many times has a tackle drafted high been pushed into guard for a couple yrs then pushed out to LT? It doesn't happen like that very often….and not all these OTs can play guard to begin with. What if someone like Lomu (who I think can't play guard) plays like ass as a LG, then what? You got a backup OT who can't get on the field for a couple years. Total waste of a first rd pick.
We will probably draft another Kinlaw type.
Other than Bosa, we whiff on WR and DL year after year.
I think you're probably right about wasting a pick on a backup. If Ternt it healthy, it is a waste. Would you wait two years and then roll the dice?
Williams and Pearsall its a bit too early but Deebo and Aiyuk were both huge hits.
Aiyuk was a one-year wonder.

Def not a one year wonder. Lol he had one year where his stats popped but he was always good.
the Aiyuk situation annoys me as much as anyone but let's not pretend he wasn't a stud for us. Especially his blocking. The way he played the hold out and everything else was awful but outside of that - he was one of the best all around WR in the nfl, IMO.

Nice. Still playing at a top 3 level (91.1 grade) and 25 per is a bargain.
Now we can get an Edge, WR or a great guard (I know we won't) in round 1. I would love to get a good safety in FA or trade (Justin Simmons please)

I would draft him and after him at LG to learn from Trent or RT then move McKivitz.
Trent is good for 2years if we're lucky. Now is the time to draft the next OT.

I don't get the hate for McKivitz. He played at a top 10 level all last season. Finished ranked #8. If he had been down in the 30s/40s, then yes, move him if you want to but as it stands now, you keep him and enjoy the consistency. If Puni returns to form, the right side of the line will be very good.

Cool, we still need to draft his eventual replacement this year. Might not need to spend the #27 on that guy and wait until #58 now but it needs to happen.

I agree that LG is a need but im far more concerned about pass rush and S. I'd rather take a talented pass rusher instead of a LG early.
earliest id like to see a G is in the second round but depending on who's left, id rather take a good S

I agree with this thinking, but the counter thinking is it may be wiser to draft the more slam dunk Guard or Safety vs the "potential" pass rusher etc. If they had more picks I would suggest throwing lower round bodies at the pass rush and o line, but we don't have that luxury this year.

We will have the same convo next year if he is issured or performance drop. Glad it's settled but I do not believe this means skip another draft on OL and fingers crossed. I think they should take his non-sexy replacement pick early even in round 1.
Or it's lather rinse repeat 2027 discussions.
