It would also make it easier for him to slide in and replace Trent if he gets injured. At least it gives them more flexibility at 27. They don't need to pick OL. They can go with DL, WR or DB. Depends on who's there when they pick.

So you want to draft a OT and convert him to a guard? Like I just posted how many times has a tackle drafted high been pushed into guard for a couple yrs then pushed out to LT? It doesn't happen like that very often….and not all these OTs can play guard to begin with. What if someone like Lomu (who I think can't play guard) plays like ass as a LG, then what? You got a backup OT who can't get on the field for a couple years. Total waste of a first rd pick.

We will probably draft another Kinlaw type.
Other than Bosa, we whiff on WR and DL year after year.

I think you're probably right about wasting a pick on a backup. If Ternt it healthy, it is a waste. Would you wait two years and then roll the dice?

Williams and Pearsall its a bit too early but Deebo and Aiyuk were both huge hits.

tired of the fat old fart hijacking our salary cap every other year, lets just trade him and be done with it

He's not a fat old fart. He's still one of the better tackles in the league but his career is getting near the end. That limits the teams that would be interested in trading for him. Someone his age and with that salary isn't easy to trade.

I'm surprised that a Webzone member with the name of CatchMaster80 would not realize just how old TW really is. He's REALLY OLD. He can no longer move like he once did. He still does not get pushed around. But there was a day and age where TW could collapse an entire side of a defense. That's how good and how dominant he really was. But he can't do that anymore. He looked kind of average last season. Not horrible. But not great either.

Williams was a 2nd team All-Pro in 2025. He's still an elite LT. These comments are entertaining.

Great. Can't wait until next offseason when he pulls the same stunt. Maybe front office should wake up and draft a replacement so we can show him the door when he decides to repeat this BS.

Yeah let's kick out a HOF LT who's still playing at an elite level because you're butthurt he wants more cash lol. As long as he's playing top end football you keep playing him. This is no different than what The Rams do with Stafford…but we know you wouldn't dare whine about that

Who's a Kinlaw type in this draft that you're talking about? Folks act like he wasn't regarded as one of the highest rated DTs in that class. He consistently going top 20.

every draft is a roll of the dice, Trent is paid and no rookie is playing OT for this team for the next two yrs.

agreed and Ricky when healthy has been a damn good WR. Not his fault he got shot and a MCL injury is no joke. Kid never missed a game in college. s**t luck.
cool on the extension! so this will free up Shannalynch to trade up for a coveted edge rusher, will probably be a player nobody is expecting or talking about right now.

That's why I prefer to trade down.

I will never understand why grown men care about another man's finances.

I was hammering on this FO when this news initially broke in February but honestly I disagree with your guys' main point about this messing with everything. This isn't that big of a deal. We got it done before the draft. That's a win IMO. It's when it drags out into August that bugs the crap out of me but this FO hasn't done that since Aiyuk. Getting it done in April before the draft hardly affects anything.

I DO agree we need to find his replacement though. Starting yesterday.

A replacement to do what? Sit the bench? I could understand if Trent said this is my last yr or he stunk. Neither of those are true. This team is trying to win now, getting a OT in what is a pretty poor class overall (in the 1st) just to sit the bench makes zero sense imo.

this whole move them to OG and push him back out stuff is fun in theory, it never happens though. Also just because you're an OT doesn't mean you can just play OG (and better).

Give me EDGE/WR or even S in the first, they will at least play and develop this yr…ideally they can move down because this draft from the end of the first to day 2 are graded pretty similarly.
Did anybody say use a first? Now we can move down to 3/4 to find a swing tackle.

Now just safety/edge in rd 1. No wr KS projects please

we have a pretty good track record of drafting WR Aiyuk and Deebo at there primes were top 5 to 10 Wr in nfl. Pearsall i understand the fustration but when hes played he was really good hes just had some bad luck i really trust KS when it comes to WR especially his type for his offense.

I do perfer a S in round 1 as well wouldn't mind an EDGE depending on the prospect. I also wouldnt mind a LG either.

S/WR/OG/EDGE in round 1 and im pretty happy
BOOM!
