Yes.
You might feel they shouldn't take a cap hit but teams don't get to pay players and not have it count against their cap. The most basic way to understand this is they paid him a lot of money for 2024 and 2025 and had much smaller cap hits for those seasons than what they actually paid.
I don't care about 24/25 I mean the cap hit moving forward when we release him

. I'm advocating that the 49ers shouldn't incur any cap penalties upon his release since he's admitted himself he's taking the money and running to another team in the same conference non the less
