I'm not ready to put jj in their territory
If this guy skips training camp do we get more cap space back than if we were to just release him right now?

I wonder what would have happen if he just showed up for OTA's last week? It can't be as simple as the 49ers would have just released him. It can't be, Has to be some type of leverage they have where they can recoup more money or something. Like a failed physical designation or something like that. Its like the one poster said, there is no way the 49ers would let him walk into the building and be around the team.

It has to be something because he isnt willing to make that move and the 49ers are just at ease at playing it out. The only thing he can do is cry over social media and that is backfiring bigtime on him.

Well I don't know if this is true because it is Florio, but if someone else knows how this works.. please correct anything.

Florio believes that we canceled the mandatory OTAs so that BA couldn't show up...

Absurd. Aiyuk can show up whenever or initiate some contact to get this ball rolling. It's more of Aiyuk wants what he wants without having to face them. He'd rather take to social media instead of looking them in the eye.

Iwouldn't even put Deebo in Aiyuk's territory. It's all different levels of bad. JJ has hurt feelings and got humbled- but the fact is the 49ers offered him a long-term deal which he rejected.

The Deebo contract was like buying stock at its peak. People predicted we should've sold but the 49ers wanted too much. I respect that Deebo at least came to Kyle and asked for a trade.

Aiyuk is in his own category.

I agree the JJ hate is ridiculous, Deebo half assed it after getting paid, Aiyuk flat out quit, JJ was just doing what any of us would do after his great 24 performance, he asked for a raise . He didn't necessarily miss camp he was injured and played through broken ribs in 25.

I don't think that's how it works, it's either full cap hit or none. Once or if he's reinstated/released his cap hit goes into affect, I'm with you though idgaf about getting a 6th/7th round pick for him I want the NFL to step in and void any potential cap hit. I don't think it'll happen but there's so much evidence of breaking the contract with malicious intent while trying to play for another specific team his whole contract should get thrown out of the window outside of the 24/25 seasons

That's exactly what is going to happen when he's released/traded. The dead cap charges the team currently faces are from bonus money (cash) that was paid up front but spread over the life of the contract for cap purposes.
I say both sides should make up and he should play🤷🏿‍♂?.

That was great, love it.
With Brandon Aiyuk and John Lynch both having the same agent, it does make you wonder if there was communication through that agent that this whole time...

the fact that Aiyuk has kept the same agent through all of this is interesting. And John Lynch as well...

Something is up...

I get the feeling that the leaks to the media might be coming from someone else (not John's office)... maybe Paraag? (salary cap Manager Jeff Diamond reports to him).... or Kyle?

Diamond and Paraag probably are the ones who didn't want to sign Aiyuk to an extention. And were probably the ones who used Aiyuk slipping up in the offseason, as an opening to quickly get money back.

Who knows if Kyle and John were 100% for that initially.. but it happened and I'm sure they went forward as a team.

But that late season media leak happened.... and all that Aiyuk s**t got put into the light.. (remember Aiyuk was not out in the media that whole time.. wasn't posting cryptic stuff on social media either).. it seemed like what was done was done. And Aiyuk and the Front Office were just looking forward to the offseason.... and Kyle and the team were focused on what was in front of them on the field. Sure they were asked about Aiyuk, but Kyle and John just said they hope he can be ready soon or other coach speak stuff.... but after the leak happened, then Kyle was a little more honest about not talking to him since before the season.

And it has got ugly since.

What I'm curious about is why is Aiyuk on social media... did something else happen? Did he expect to be cut on June 1st? Maybe he (through his agent) got the impression that he would be released by now? but something changed from the 9ers perspective....and so he's doing his thing as well (like he did during his contract negotiations).

Eventually we'll get more info..
