Well just remember, he did go out and play and shred his knee in service to the team. He rightfully is compensated for that.

Putting aside any additional factors, this became a disaster of a contract because he was injured. A contract we wouldn't have been able to get out of without significantly worse cap implications until at least after this coming season. Him being a saint wouldn't change that.

I said outside of 24/25 because he did show up, 25 being arguable.

Well, I was around and no, he was nothing like the pissant B that BA is.
This wet garden tool still got writer's block, she ain't posted any b!tch sh!t in a minute
Full video... pretty good conversation.

Interesting at 18:00 of the video.. where Grant ... well Grant mentions a Kittle interview where George said he would run into Brandon in the weight room all season.. but right after the leak (in Nov) about the team taking money back from months back, Aiyuk then just stopped showing up. Again up to that point Aiyuk wasn't being a distraction or anything off the field.. kept it low key.

lol i haven't looked into it but i heard he has said more stuff today. drama mama
Well I could've told BA he would be here well past June 1 as everyone kept saying because he LEFT THE SQUAD! Nowhere in the CBA did it say we must release him as a post June 1 designation. National reporters and posters here were under that illusion but I knew that he'd still be here until he reported to HQ and essentially forced our hand.

He wasn't lashing out in the media until this date had passed and now he realizes he's stuck with us until we say so as he is still under contract. So he can wear another teams gear as much as he so pleases but he is gonna have to slow that car down and turn into the parking lot at 49ers HQ and get reinstated and get back to work if he expects to be a free man.

Even if we have to do a Jimmy G with him as one poster said. If no one trades for him he can play pitch and catch with himself off to the side in the corner until a team trades for him or we cut him outright and that's likely after TC and prior to us boarding our flight to Australia

Man this is exciting watching this all unfold

First he has to take care of his SCPD issue first and he won't touch that field at all. Not when he can so call injure himself and screw us more

True. I don't know how they'll play it once he reports but they'll likely hold him until 9/1 or whenever his option is due so he can post all he wants because if he doesn't show up at 49ers HQ devoid of another teams gear he won't get reinstated and subsequently cut

And if he's not already dealt with SCPD then that's another hurdle he'll have to cross. If I'm the "lil boys" John Jed and Kyle I'll be sure to place his locker right in between Fred and Dre so that he can get a picture of what Sundays will be like once he lines up to play us. Get reacquainted with your teammates buddy

My local sports talk said "Aiyuk is the first NFL player to suffer CTE due to a lower body injury. "

Aiyuk earned his 2024 salary, IMO. And a portion of his 2025 salary.

when you factor in him abandoning the team/meetings etc - I think that's breach of contract and a legitimate grievance can be made to get that year prorated and he has to return it. That's just my opinion on what will happen.

I think he will be forced to return a lot of his signing bonus. Signing bonuses are designed to account for the lifetime of the agreed upon contract. He was given $23M for four years and really only did 1.5 years of it.

grievance wise, that's only earning $8.625M of it. So I think niners will try to take back $14.375M of it.

if teams can take back signing bonuses from a contract cause a guy retires before the contract ends… they sure as hell can get it back if the player goes AWOL and breaks the contract, IMO.

That's what I'm thinking also. A contract is a contract (the fine print), services were not provided/completed

Not only do I think they recoup that money - I think they go after him with major fines for all the stuff he missed last year, if they haven't already. They may already have and it's not been reported.

I had a guy at my job when I first started who I considered a "mentor". He would tell me something that I've never forgot.
"you can go ahead and cross that bridge, but you're not going to like what you get on the other side". That's exactly what Brandon's done, IMO. He crossed a bridge out of emotional responses and what he thought would be on the other side, won't. And he isn't going to like it

There are two separate breaches here. The first was whatever it was that allowed them to void his future guarantees in July. The voiding of the guarantees was the remedy.

The second was him leaving the team and being placed on the left squad list in December. The remedy for this is defined by the CBA. Because the breach happened in the regular season they can clawback 25 percent of his prorated bonus amounts for 2025 (approximately 2m).

If he never reports, and he stays on the left squad list the team can potentially clawback the full amounts of his prorated bonuses in each year he remains on the list going forward (for the life of the contract).

TLDR: as of now, they can only get ~2m of his bonus money from 2025.
