it's just rough when the comp is a shell of what it would have been when he was coming off a great year. we are stuck with these guys.

If you're going to post those videos then post the recap and not just posting Grant's clickbait titles or i"m going to assume you're spamming for him since this is monetized content from him.

It's easy to regret paying someone who doesn't produce up to those standards or gets a serious injury on top of it. If Aiyuk went out there and dropped a 1500+ yard and 15+ TD season would they be regretting it too?

Stop calling players cancers when they have never caused issues within the locker room. Everyone on the team loves BA. Fans gotta stop letting some of these tough contract negotiations sour us on players as people.

fans can have their opinion. he said something to the effect that he made it harder on the organization than it needed to be and he said it with what can be called a bleep eating grin. he then really struggled out of the gate. i'm not getting into the injury cuz that's just unfortunate for all. i'm just talking facts around that. so he missed time, started slow, dropped balls and said oh i made it harder on the club, and he was dancing when random wrs got paid. it was frustrating. he said oh i don't want to be with the 49ers, ok play someplace else.

from a football pov, shanny played WR and he's shown he can develop deebo, BA and jennings into good ones, why not draft and trade for assets and keep coaching up young guys. we can be a WR factory, course they got burned on DeFo so they don't dare trade anyone anymore. but i think WR they can do it, cuz kyle has shown a great track record there. time to trade brandon and deebo would be coming off good years, you don't sell your car after you wreck it. at least not for good return. just my 2 cents, and as always the team is 49ers

WR factory?

Trent Taylor
Dante Pettis
Richie James
Jalen Hurd
Danny Gray
Ronnie Bell

All WRs drafted under Kyle that failed to come anywhere close to what BA, Deebo and even Jennings did. It's not that simple and Kyle can't do things for them.

Even in the case of Aiyuk and the whole doghouse situation it could've went the other way where Aiyuk could've gotten pouty and didn't learn and improve from what Kyle was saying. He took it well and grew from it to become a great WR.

Finding top tier WRs isn't as easy as you think and all that stuff you mentioned in the first paragraph is feelings based. It has nothing to do with being a "cancer". It was a difficult negotiation and it took both sides to make it that way but yes Aiyuk made it tougher than it had to be and still everyone on the team backed him up and had nothing bad to say about it.

i think the doghouse is an example of kyle developing BA. look how far BA rose. i credit coach for working with wide receivers. deebo, BA and jennings all hit big and pearsall i think is a possible one. i trust kyle more at WR than probably any other spot.

Not arguing for or against BA being a cancer, but you don't know what issues have been caused in the locker room. Nobody really knew Devondre Campbell was a cancer in the locker room until it came to a head on the field. The 49ers have done a surprisingly good job of keeping team issues from spilling out.
If they can get a 4th and lose his enormous contract - then do it as soon as possible.

Dead cap hit?

This could prevent us from signing other guys

You're right we may not know all the inner workings but I also know if I don't know then neither does ROS...so calling Aiyuk a cancer is still unnecessary.

I also know before the contract stuff popped up Aiyuk NEVER create an issue in the locker room that was visible to fans. We've seen it from other WRs. Aiyuk never ran his mouth about his lack of usage and he knew that would come back to bite him during contract talks. Call me crazy but I respect that.

SMH...forget the major dead cap hit you take on but you're also staring at a WR room of

JJ - one year left on his deal
Pearsall
Cowing

I'm sorry but that's just not a very smart way of running a team. And once again, go back and look at our production on offense with Aiyuk on the field and without. Even when he's not getting the ball his presence is a big part of helping the offense thrive and as much as I love JJ, he does not do the same thing.
