SMH...forget the major dead cap hit you take on but you're also staring at a WR room of

JJ - one year left on his deal
Pearsall
Cowing

I'm sorry but that's just not a very smart way of running a team. And once again, go back and look at our production on offense with Aiyuk on the field and without. Even when he's not getting the ball his presence is a big part of helping the offense thrive and as much as I love JJ, he does not do the same thing.

Great point!

I mean what is the trade value of WR with a bloated contract coming off a major knee injury?

Absolutely blows my mind what goes through some people's heads. SMFH.

I fear Aiyuk won't be the same player again. So, I'm always looking to see if we can do better.
Teams are just trying to steal him from us. Get him for nothing basically. Niners will not trade him unless a team offers a 1st. Because they would need to use that pick to replace him.

The moment a guy goes public with a holdout his replacement should be getting ready. When a a dog bites the first time it's their fault, if they have a chance to do it again it's yours. This conversation should never be happening, we should all be laughing about how Cleveland gave up a 2nd and a solid player for a headache that will never be the same.

He was borderline worth a 1st before he shredded his knee. Now he's worth no more than a 4th because he's getting top tier pay while playing average at best ball. The contract was a mistake. Hopefully this team learned their lesson with Trent, BA, Deebo, and Bosa. Dudes that hold out are rarely worth the headache, dudes that fo so very publicly never are.

This is what it feels like, while I'm not optimistic about his return because he'll be missing two training camps in back to back years coming back from a ACL/MCL. The same injury that destroyed both Bowman and Lattimores career. Not worth giving him up for peanuts plus the cap hit with our we situation. Maybe a high 2nd I'd consider but I'd hang up the phone if someone offer a 3rd-4th

I would crawl over broken glass to unload him in a heartbeat of someone gave a 3rd for him. If having to be in the doghouse at the start of his career and then holding out didn't show you who he is i font know what to tell you. He simply doesn't have what it takes to be great and lacks the motivation to come back better. He shares that with the other idiot we gave too much money to on the other side with Samuel.

You're assuming he returns at full strength and plays better than the games he did last year. I'm more than doubtful he even starts the season.

Also, there are a number of FA that are very capable of filling that production. Armari Cooper for one.

AND at a fraction of the price. You're right, the dead money makes it impossible which is why we shouldn't have been stupid and signed that contract to begin with. We should have had Cooper and the pick while his recovery is the Browns problem. My primary issue with Lynch is his inability to say no to every player that's wants a massive contract.
