D line is sick. Now draft more guys and develop them. You can never have enough pass rushers.

Does it really matter if the O line keeps getting QBs killed?

If Jackson takes a step forward this line is going to be insanity.

Losing a lot of depth, but if I'm a journeyman d-line FA, I can't think of a better place to play than here. Almost everyone coached under Kris Kocurek ends up getting paid big money after just one or two seasons.

I really hope we can figure out a way to bring Jordan Willis back, especially after losing Omenihu and Ebukam.

If he can have the Aaron Banks / Talanoa Hufanga Year 2 Jump...
Man. That would be huge...

That would be ideal.

Agreed. I prefer Drake to be used primarily as a pass rusher next season so I think finding a replacement for Ebukam is important - to play 1st and 2nd down and be strong versus the run. I don't mind Willis in that role, he's a stout guy.

There are still a tun of edge rushers out there, we should be able to bring in a pretty darn good players for a great price

Drake Jackson IMO will be the "X-Factor" on our D-Line and if he starts developing into what he can be, that could be the difference in us having a Tremendous defensive line instead of a really good one....

I really liked Omenhiu, he was really starting to develop and a key rotational guy who played both end spots and even some DT. I can see him getting better and better and thriving in KC

I think fans want a pure speed guy more than Kocurek. A lot of people don't consider how much of a liability a pure speed rusher can be in this scheme, especially with the ubiquity of mobile QBs around the NFL. One of the inherent weaknesses of the wide 9 are the bubbles/space. There's a ton of space in there between the players, and pure speed rushers create even more space. If they're one trick pony and can only survive by running the arc, they're essentially feast or famine with the influx of mobile QBs around the league. Either they get home or they create a massive escape lane for the quarterback. Kocurek puts a lot of emphasis on rushing as group and caging quarterbacks inside the pocket. That's not what pure speed guys do well. Most of them are undersized and struggle to play through contact.
Ideally, you want a guy that can win with speed but isn't entirely dependent on it. It's just one tool in the toolbox. Drake Jackson could be that guy.
