I think that seemed to be the plan if he was sus[ected to be out any longer i think they would have put him on the IR like kinlaw

I would rather take the long approach with these guys we need them for the long term in this season

We almost got Daron Payne. I hope Lynch revisits that in the offseason.

I'm glad they entertained a high quality DT. With AA maybe coming back that might be an indication Kinlaw is done.
Payne would've put this d line over the top. But you can't trade all our picks

Payne AA and Kinlaw would have been massive

Kinlaw may never be available in any capacity to count on.

Yeah I had the same thought when I read the article. It sucks about Kinlaw because while I was against the pick, you can see what Lynch and Kyle were thinking with adding him. The only silver lining is they now know to avoid medical flags.

Also, we have a good track record of drafting talented defensive lineman. Luckily we have a good stable of defensive ends so I can see them drafting interior D line next year.

Yeah I'm not counting on Kinlaw. I'm hoping AA can heal up and that Davis develops. I think AA can be good for 6-8 sacks yearly + great run D if Davis can be DJ Jones 2.0.

Also maybe people won't take run D for granted anymore.

and for what its worth Kinlaw is a talented DL every time he plays he plays well and is a huge part why our run D is solid
Payne would've been nice. He's exactly the body type and athlete the 49ers are missing up the middle. Someone that is athletic enough to get vertical while also being built to withstand the barrage of double teams.

The other question I had in this is if we do get someone like Payne who's still young, so we move on from both Kinlaw and AA? If this is going to be a continual issue for AA, is there a chance we move in from him ? Not sure what his cap hits are.

I agree. f**k them picks. Always take a proven stud over an unknown draft pick. If bust rates weren't so high I would have a different stance, but yeah f**k them picks.

What is the timeline for Davis to return from his injury? They could use some reinforcements on the interior.
