Agree. AA missing from the DL is felt in both run and pass. I think Ridgeway filling in for Kinlaw as a run defender is fine, but it's hard to replace AA with Givens/Hyder/Spence.

Wouldn't it be nice to have DJ Jones right about now? People kept saying we'd be fine but I thought he was easily our biggest loss last offseason.

It would and we would be fine if healthy. I think an AA + any other DT would've worked, but no AA and you lose a lot in the middle. They did draft a guy to develop so hopefully Davis comes along. We just are too banged up. Simple as that. Can't have backups playing extensive snaps and expect the same performance.

I thought we should have done more to bring him back. I think the team was depending too much on Kinlaw to come good.

Depending on the walking wounded has really hurt us. Our regime is so optimistic with certain positions, but impatient with others.

True. We have a couple DE's playing inside now too to help out. Not ideal. Our rotation has been great but you don't want all your rotational backups in there at once when facing a really really good run blocking team. They were moving the LOS all day. They totally flipped the script on us and they hit PA off that all day behind our LB's for easy pitch-catches. Not 1 incompletion until the 4Q.

Gotta tip my cap to them.

Meco didn't account for Pitts or Mariotta in the RZ at all either. He even had Odem 1on1 on Pitts in the EZ. Yikes.

No, he wasn't, but he sure dropped the ball when he failed to coach his D that Marriota was a running QB ,but failed to do so. On four separate runs, 3 of which were on 3rd and long, Marriota ran around the R side edge for first downs, all of which ended up as TDs. On the fourth run, Marriota again ran around R side Edge for a TD.

So you are right…Meco wasn't on the field physically. But he wasn't there mentally either and that was the difference in the game, those 4 qB runs. On every one of those plays our DE crashed in with no contain. Bingo. There went the ballgame. Yes we are physically beaten up on D, 6 of 11 starters out with injury. But our D played well except for 4 QB running plays , all in key situations, and Meco did not have our guys ready for that. Inexcusable.

This is the first and only time i recall when Demeco had a bad game. But this one…he owns this one. We all make mistakes and this game was squarely on Meco's shoulders.

He just signed a long term contract with Denver. Why would Denver even consider trading him back to us? And if Lynch wasn't willing to pay for him when we had cap space, why would he now when we have none?

That is huge. I would have liked them to add someone before the deadline. I'm kinda surprised Suh and his relationship with coach k hasn't been talked about more.

I didn't even realize they worked together. I wonder is Suh price tag is just too high or maybe it's his attitude. I would've thought TB would've brought him back.
