Pathetic.

And this DL was supposed to have a lot of "good" players, especially depth wise. Money ball for the loss...

It certainly has been disappointing. Even in run defense.

In this wide 9 scheme, i'm not that surprised there. But the pass rush has been the disappointment. This is a scheme that lets show case that ability and outside of Bosa, no one has stood out. I really expected that one of these guys would have a decent little breakout year like Hyder did for us.

Ebukam is a total failure. I thought the dude would at least get 6/7 sacks.

Yup...

And we could have kept Kerry Hyder for what we paid Ebukam.
Ebukam has done some productive things lately, just hasn't sacked the QB

Why? He hasn't done anything for Seattle. Always go with the younger guy.

In hindsight we really got excited about a bunch of back up depth guys as if they really were gonna make an impact. Givens, Kerr, Street, Hurst have basically contributed nothing. Ebukam the guy they paid the most for in FA is a complete non factor as a player. Ebukam Willis and Key are just barely above being camp bodies in reality.

I disagree, I think they are improving, and stats don't tell the whole story. Those two 4th down plays that the defense stopped the Vikings, I think the pass rush was there, but Cousins got rid of it before they got there. Again, those two forth down plays were stopped - because the DLine adequately did their jobs. Now, I also think, they still have a ton of improvement to do on the DLine if they want to become a legit playoff defense. But I see signs of progress and, while slow and frustrating, I do see it.
Gonna need this group to really step up here down the home stretch if we want to go anywhere this year. Bosa can't do it all on his own.

Shame Willis hasn't done squat since coming off the PEDs. Thought we were getting some nice rush coming in to help. Definitely need the interior guys to step up as well. I miss the days where we just had total pocket collapsing against QBs. Such a beautiful sight. Let's bring it back!

Who cares about what he's doing in SEA. He was playing just fine in this scheme. Sometimes that's all it comes down to for certain players.

Not to mention they're asking him to play a lot more inside in Seattle. He was exclusively an edge player here, and a damn good one, too.

Or quite possibly, he's an avg player that happened to have a career year. And what you are seeing is who he's mostly been during his career. A solid rotational player, but avg starter.

Maybe but I just go by what I see with my eyes, and I saw an edge player that was very crafty with his pass-rush plan and technical with his hands. Dude won with so many different moves. I was pretty damn impressed with each game.

Last time he had a good year was in Det under our current DL coach. It's not hard to understand that some players perform better in a certain schemes. In his case, the wide 9. It was obviously a mistake letting him go and basically paying the same amount for Ebukam who's been a disappointment, not sure how you can argue this lol.
could you imagine a healthy bosa and justin smith playing together lol

My hope was that Kinlaw/Bosa was the next Smith Brothers 2.0, but Kinlaw got injured.
DL was fantastic on Sunday. DJ, AA and Bosa were dominant.

They seem to be settling in and Ebukam is very solid in setting the edge and good at reading screens from what I sporadically pay attention too. Not so hot in the rush department. Arden on the inside more too please.

Key versus tackles is worthless. Versus guards he's just blowing right by them and making plays
