Damontre Moore is a way better pas-rusher than Ebukam.

Where is Dee Ford! Ekuban! Zach Kerr has got to go. Bring up Darrion Daniels, he can't be much worse.

I don't want to be that guy necessarily. I really don't. But we were specifically talking about corners earlier and how that was a need that we really didn't address. No we didn't do much to address the pass rush either. But so many here wanted that shiny new toy and sports car at QB to replace/upgrade Jimmy. Well that sports car is by and large kept in the garage, and for good reason. When you do decide to drive him around you're still going to have the same gaping holes in the secondary and the pass rush with now fewer draft picks with which to address those areas with. You can maybe get some picks or a pick for Jimmy and maybe get some cap relief if and when he's gone. Maybe the brain trust works something else out between now and next year. But people here acted like QB was the biggest need or weakest area of the team this year and it really wasn't. I get he's limited and I get a big part of it was his inability to stay on the field. But he himself is still good enough to win with. But you do need guys around him on both sides of the ball that we seemingly don't have and didn't get. Injuries of course aren't helping matters either.

He is nowhere near 100%. I won't deem him 100% until I hear that he was a full go in practice.

You may be waiting a long time for that.

We're not getting any interior pressure. When you have Bosa and Ford, it's nice to have someone that can clog the middle giving the QB nowhere to go. As it stands now, the QB can just step up in the pocket and let his OL ride Bosa and Ford (or hold I should say) out of the play. Let them overrun it.

Ebukam tries really hard and is a high-effort guy, but he's not a pass rusher. The dude reminds me a bit of Solomon Thomas lol.

Who is playing well for Oakland.
We can't lose sight of the fact that Ryans is in is first year as DC. He needs to learn to disguise those defenses a little , especially now with the secondary so depleted. Saleh had incredible intensity which I don't see from Ryans on the sidelines. That can rub off on the team. We'll see if he improves.

This is why I laugh when people say our OL matters. Until we get a better QB it doesn't matter who we have on the OL, it's going to be rough.

Conversely, guys like Rodgers & Brady make OL basically meaningless. Yeah you can't be absolute trash but average OL is fine
Our pass rush have been limited because of our run defense. Rodgers was constantly in 2nd and short and 3rd and short situations.
The wide 9 scheme is part of the issue in the run game. Teams are double teaming our interior lineman. The de's are so far wide they can't make a play. Linebackers not fitting the holes. Fred plugged the wrong whole several times versus GB. Stopping Carson will be tough

I think the DL will step up - just need Kinlaw to start mauling people in the run defense.
where the hell is the Justin Smith thread?

man what a f**king stud

Ouch

They were chipping our edge defenders all night...TEs/RBs whomever. When you have joe blow one on one vs Adams who's the best WR off the LOS in the NFL it doesn't matter. They were getting rid of the ball quickly because guys were getting open quickly.

Rogers makes everything that much better too.

Our LBers have been bad at this for a while IMO. They're all amazing coverage LBers but filling in those gaps vs the run? Not very consistent.
