I hope we do something much different in the first couple of rounds... there might still be solid D line / ER guys in the mid to late rounds. O line, DB / WR / LB in the first couple rounds should be (hopefully) considered by Shanny / Glynch

I am with you.

I figure a few guys on the D line aren't brought back... another FA (not just an average depth piece) who could compete with one of our starters should be brought in, then draft solid depth / potential starters (not early rounds). There's still DTs Anderson and Valdez and perhaps a surprise player on the PS who can contribute in rotation

some dline love
This D line looked pretty damn good at times and made some key stops vs an O line better than what they'll see tonight

I don't think the cucks' O will have as much success doing anything at all, and I wouldn't doubt 49ers D winning in the trenches this time

It looked good when Collins and West were in.

Elliot was crushed by double teams.

Elliot still hobbled with injury, but I bet Evan Anderson could do a better job at handling double teams, he showed it last year

Not Saleh's guy. That's the issue.

I'm not sure wtf the thinking is going on with staff at times... before the season started, Anderson was promoted to the 53 and Valdez was sent to PS. Days later, they find some dude https://www.49erswebzone.com/forum/niners/198166-49ers-sign-jordan-jefferson/page2/

They had to cut EA but he passed waivers and sent to our PS. Soon after, they cut the JJ dude
Sadly, they really need address the end depth next year(again). The pass rush still sucks, but most importantly, the edges were so soft after Bosa and Mykel went down. You can't play the wide 9 with these tiny dudes. The scheme is designed to be run with big f**king 270+ pound ends.

It's almost as if they don't know their own scheme. SAM O and Huff not gonna cut it

The benefit of this year was all the reps for the young guys.

This is what I was referencing when I made the post above. I focused on this throughout the game. AJ Barner and Eric Saubert were absolutely bodying the 49ers ends.

Agree fully. I like our D Line when fully healthy but we need to continue investing to build low cost quality depth/rotation that fits the scheme. Thought they were playing well early in the season. Expect even better as West and Collins emerge next year.

I think Huff is a great addition as situation speed rusher in NASCAR package. We saw that early in the year. That should be his only role. The moment he had to step in as a base down DE it fell apart. Terrible scheme fit.

Question is, who will be our 2 rotational DEs behind Bosa and Mykel next season - that are big and fit the scheme? YGM + draft pick?

Can we move off of Jordan Elliott and ride with Kalia Davis, Evan A, + draft pick at DT behind West and Collins?

And where was Valdez with all the injuries to the line? He looked good in preseason? I think it's the same thing. Saleh, like Shanahan, like to play favorites over ability. I get it, they know the scheme, but sometimes sheer talent/ physical abilityhas to outweigh that? Or at least give guys some time to see?
