Oh no, C or RG starter for sure.

He will be a C somewhere, not here at rg.

If the 9ers want to sign a vet rg it should be Laurent Duvernay-Tardif

Lynch did note they were upstairs reviewing free agent options for C so that would make sense. I think we know who one of those is.

"There's a free agent class that's coming along that might include some candidates there as well," Lynch said. "

JC Tretter please.

This offseason is, by far, Jon Lynch's worst as a General Manager. Deebo wants out for whatever reason and the team doesn't know if he'll play again for the team or if they'll be able to get anything close to value on the trade market. JimmyG is taking his sweet time recovering on the 49ers dime in an obvious attempt to compel the 49ers to release him. They didn't have picks in either of the first two rounds of the draft. Their center is contemplating retirement and there is no current replacement for him on the roster. Same situation at safety.

There is still a lot of time for everything to shake out, and it's possible one or two of these rookies or Trey Lance will make all of us forget about this offseason, but right now it's a pile of dog crap. The only way this gets worse is if Nick Bosa won't do an extension either.

Typical gloom and doom overreaction. The Deebo situation is a bit of a head scratcher for sure. Be curious to know what that is all about.

As for the rest, it seems like they had a pretty good draft and got guys with some upside. They got a new corner and receiver/returner, which they certainly needed and moved on from some guys that looked like they had contributed as much as they could.

They're coming off a season that got them to the NFC Championship game and have a new QB waiting in the wings who offers something to look forward to.

The situation with Jimmy will work out however it ends up working out and doesn't bother me a bit. All in all I'd say this off season is coming along just fine apart from all of the drama around Deebo. I think there are probably a lot of other franchise out there who would be happy to have our 'problems'. Go Niners

I remember Aaron Rogers saying he'll never play for the Packers again (or something like that) and they threw money at him and guess what, he's still a packer. I suspect the same thing with Deebo. He's just playing hardball Deebo style. Deebo will be a 49er for a long time - AB81 says so! And I agree with him too!

Not great. The two corners have upside but have considerable work to do. Safety is not good. A super slow Harris clone being the only addition is not good at all. At least on the O line they added pieces that could develop into something.

Need to find a way to get Matthieu at this point. Cut Jimmy if you have to.
secondary is still a a major concern . safety is looking very problematic , you figure lynch would value that stuff.. you can not set there and tell me there was not a good safety we could have gotten instead of the running back. huff is also slow. the league values fast wide outs as evidenced by the draft... how do we respond... by not doing anything and hoping our slow guys can do the job.. ok... i get that...... our pass rush will be awesome crowd.. but sooner of later the secondary must stand on their own.. bringing tartt back is no answer... sooner or later. we all sleep alone

depth is fine,... but with the secondary.. you have to have quality starters.. i just do not see that aside from ward at safety spot. and we all know he is a injury away from the bench. at least they did some things on the o line.. but of course the center is the key... lynch saying he will depend on the back up and kids if mack retires is just dumb
It's easy to say that this off season hasn't been great for SF. The Deebo and JG situations are bad enough but they didn't sign any major free agents and lost a couple of starters. (Mostert and Tomlison) as well as D J Jones. The draft may or may not turn out to be a good one but we didn't land any high profile players and Lynch didn't make any moves. On the surface, the draft looks very average and uneventful. Like I said that doesn't mean it won't turn out well but I can see how a fan could look at it and not be impressed.

I'd rather have "perceived" crappy offseasons and win in the regular season. I remember watching the first round this year and everyone on the tele was talking about how the Jets killed it. I remember the same sentiment when we had multiple firsts some years ago and everyone thought we killed it. Then we followed it up with a boner killer of a regular season.

Other than the 2020 wtf season, we've had a couple monster teams under Lynch and Shanahan and i'm not stressing one bit. They've proven to be trailblazers that other GMs and coaches want to emulate. They still get so much hatred from this fanbase. We could always go back to Baalke and some of those other HC's before Shanahan.

the edge rusher was nice. so were a few other picks.. but on may second i stand by what i said before the draft.. this team is worse than what they were 4 months ago... with still the center piece to figure out.. and of course the jimmy g thing.. and of course the deebo drama

ok,, typical... just because some fans dare to be critical of lynch and kyle... does not mean we want joe thomas or trent or jt or ken meyer back. one thing does not always have to lead to another

You can be critical, but sometimes I can't tell the difference between a fan being critical of Baalke (8 years ago?) and Lynch now. It's not the same. I wish I would read more things like "This may be Lynch's worst offseason, but thank god we have him." He's done a lot of good.

Imagine you're dating a chick now and you're good to her, but you don't clean the house very well. You get compared to her ex who also didn't clean very well, but also beat her. That's what Baalke and others did to us. They beat us with a belt and shoes and we had to wear makeup in public and lots of clothing to cover the bruises they left us. Lynch isn't perfect, but he doesn't abuse us. He could very well become our step-father and we should accept it now.
