you can look at many of the Ravens drafts at the time of drafting and think, man these guys got good value here. I'm def jealous of their drafting, especially on defense and OL.
I think our class is ok. I think the ravens did better in terms of finding value. When you look at value, you find the ravens taking a player ranked, let's say 90, in the 120 range (end of 4th)
we are consistently taking lower ranked players in higher slots. How is that not a problem? we picked a RB in the 3rd, which is a problem, and then take like the 10th best RB on the board at the time? You can yell scheme fit, but then again, we are constantly on the losing side, taking lower ranked players.
we needed a Safety. In the 3rd we reach for a RB. Two good safeties go off the board immediately after. Tell me, could we have gotten better value with a safety there? Of course!!!!!!
we need Lance to be the guy and everything else washes away. If we didn't get lucky in the 5th round so often, most of our picks would look like poop.
The ravens literally traded a WR they drafted in the 1st rd 3yrs ago. I wouldn't call that a great pick by them. In fact that yr they cut their other WR from that draft in Boykins too. I'm actually looking at that 2019 draft and I don't see a single starter.
who was their amazing pick in 2020? Patrick Queen? Outside of that I see a bunch of meh.
the 2018 draft they got Lamar BUT they drafted Hayden hurst first lol. He's on like his 3 team in 4 yrs or something. Mark andrews was a great pick and they already moved on from Orlando brown Jr…too early to judge last yrs draft…but overall I'm looking at Baltimore's past couple drafts and I don't see anything special.
as far as reaching for a RB, I agree there. I don't really agree the safeties drafted right after were anything special.
people complain SF drafts for need and not BPA. Yet you're complaining that they did the opposite of that?
