i loved how lynch emphasized getting in touch with our great past players. maybe rice will finally come in and take the receivers to the hill

"I think the toughest one – I haven't told this yet to the media – all my kids took it really well," Lynch said. "They were shocked but they took it really well. My 9-year-old started bawlin' and she's not that girl. She's the one that was always happy and she was crying and I said, 'What's wrong Leah? Is there some nervous anxiety about moving?' And she said, 'No daddy,' and she was sobbing. And I said, 'What's wrong?' And she said, 'The 49ers are horrible.'

Over the past 15 years the 49ers have been running like hell in the opposite direction from their past, maybe the results will be better if they actually embrace it.

Cool. That's a good mentality to build towards. Imagine AA and Buck plowing ahead at the snap instead of standing up and just trying to control the OLman. JoN asked his LBs to read and react to what the DL was doing. That's a lot of thinking that close to the line of scrimmage where everything happens so fast.

Yup, AA and Buck have a lot of ability. It seems like a better use of their talents to simplify the mental aspect of the game for them and just let them shoot the gaps and make a play. Same thing with the LBs. Have a system where these guys have a clearly defined role on every snap and let them play without thinking so much..

I'm fine with that. What we all want in the end is a disruptive defense that can stop the run first and make teams one-dimensional.

I must say, I hated hearing that Lynch was hired. Right now, I'm loving it. We've been a damaged franchise for a while. John is showing that he wants to make it a place players want to be. That's huge.

Couple that with Kyle and I couldn't be happier with where we're heading. I expect it'll take a couple years to see some notable progress, but my optimism is at an all time high.

And a commitment to finally finding a QB.... I'll stop

Honestly...I started reading this and I teared up a bit. Finally someone...and not even a 49er...GETS IT! Stupid ass ownership...at least and we still have hope...give John Lynch the keys and GTFO!

Ive said before on here..I grew up in Tampa and was a John Lynch fan in his playing days. It didn't come up often but I could always tell he had an admiration for the Niners mainly because he wouldn't even be a football player if not for Walsh. I remember when Walsh died he did an interview where he gave him all the credit for even playing football. Lynch is a guy that appreciates our history. I had an instant good feeling when he was hired because I knew he embodied a lot of the characteristics fans have been asking for.

Maybe this is finally Jed's moment of waking the f**k up!? I know not a down has been played yet...but since the Harbaugh hire...the setup has never looked better.
