John Lynch - 49ers GM

The big deal here is, somebody, Lynch, is obviously in charge. Great pedigree, starting wtih Stanford, great DB hitter, SB ring, and ...smart. Most important, somebody, one identifiable guy, is in charge. What's not to like about that? This is what we have needed since yorks unfortunately took over in 2000 era. And then we were subjected to the worst show on turf for a long 17 yrs. Truly, we deserved this.

I think in the end, it was all about money. And that leaky $30 million/yr to guys no longer working here....ummm....that may have had something to do with it. Starting off cheap...and cocky....that obviously isnt the way to do it. Wonder if the yorks ever added up what their messing with the team actually cost them. I am sure peeg could give them a number in about 12 seconds. Oh, well, the dark lite has been lifted. From now on, we just get better and better.

First tho would like a DC. Plus if you don't like the mystery surrounding FA and draft this yr...well, you probably aren't a fan.

So will we see a ring of honor in Levis next season?

Honestly...I started reading this and I teared up a bit. Finally someone...and not even a 49er...GETS IT! Stupid ass ownership...at least and we still have hope...give John Lynch the keys and GTFO!

I get the impression that Jed would've been fine if the previous coaches had sought relationships with past 49ers, too. York seems to be of the mindset that he will facilitate what his GM and HC want to do. It just happened to be that Baalke and the more recent head coaches didn't seek the input of former 49er players. It would be nice if the sentiment to bring in former 49ers came from ownership as well, but at least York's not against it in principle if his GM/HC want to do it.

There's an older dude at my barbershop that works for the NFL. We chat whenever I run into him. We were discussing the super bowl and how Kyle and the Falcons should have ran the ball after the Julio catch. He went on to say that anyone who is a 49ers fan right now should be extremely happy with how the front office and coaching staff is coming together. He mentioned that he used to cover the 49ers back in the '80s and says that he's sure lynch is going to bring back the environment that was prominent back in those days. Says the 49ers image around the NFL right now is overwhelmingly positive.
