Makes me wonder if Lynch will whiff on draft picks in his first year. It tend to happen with regime change with instability that first few months leading to the draft.

When Walsh came back on his second stint as GM, he admittedly wasn't prepare as needed. Whiffed badly on Reggie McGrew.

Going to have to lean on Tom Gamble and the current scout evaluation.

That is odd considering Marathe runs Football Operations, there must be a dotted line reporting structure to Marathe.

Could be part of his contract he reports to Jed not Paraag...I know hard for ya to believe

It is hard to belive because it doesn't make sense. Why wouldn't he report to the head of football operations, it seems like it would be easier to keep the two on the same page?

Not sure why he's lie about that

Maybe to make it appear that Lynch has more autonomy than he has or to shield Marathe. I have no idea if he is being truthful, I just think it is a weird structure and didn't seem to work well with Baalke.
C'mon woo..today has been a good day

Marathe interviewed and hired Lynch, he interviewed and hired Shanahan and he may be the only person who was in every interview of candidates for each position. Marathe has the top title in football operations.
This is his team, he is our Football Guy in charge of football ops. I am fine with it and hope the team is committed to making it work between Paraag, his GM and their coach.
this is Jed and Paraag's opportunity to shine with a team built according to their image and I hope they knock it out of the park.

I am excited about the future.

This comment by woo is almost as shocking as Lynch's hire! Woo said a good thing; I'm in freakin shock as well.. Nice comment Woo, are you being sarcastic or real?

Real. Not as much change as I wanted but I am excited about Shanahan and while Lynch is a total unknown it is a bold move by Jed and Paraag which intrigues me.
Time to be optimistic.

Amazing. Something he already has that baalke didn't have is charisma. Free agents are gonna like him.

Depends what he is looking for. Phil Emery (former Bears GM) & Ruston Webster (former Titans GM) are now a National Scouts for Atlanta. Considering he works for ESPN i doubt he comes though.
