Here a story that you guys may find interesting. What is says or doesn't say about his upbringing is up to you. John has a younger brother Ryan. Around '92 Ryan was in high school here in San Diego. during a football game he kicked an opposing teams player in the stomach and was tossed from the game. Playoffs were starting the following week and by rule he was to be suspended for the game. John Lynch Sr their father, Is a very wealthy man. own a bunch of radio stations and other media outlets. He decides, instead of his son serving his suspension, to get his lawyers involved and get an injunction on the suspension knowing that by the time it was adjudicated playoffs would be over. Which is exactly what happened. This allowed the brother Ryan to play the next weeks game which they eventually lost.

Lol I'm sorry what does this have to do with anything regarding John lynch

That kicking someone in the stomach still leads to losing in the playoffs or something.
That money buys influence in this world?

I'm sure there are all sorts of messages from that little anecdote.

His brother will be hired as head of security?
It would be interesting to go back and watch the 49er games Lynch has covered over the last couple of years and listen to his personal take on the team.
Unfortunately, I deleted the last couple of years due to heartbreak, sorrow and a general feeling of nausea when watching them.

Good, I hope he would do that for any of our players in the same circumstance.
The one positive that keeps coming to mind to me is this: The Niners knew the first year was going to be a very rough ride -- no one is expecting us to make the playoffs or even come close -- so I think with this already known, the team was in position where they could use this to their advantage with Lynch. It's a given there were going to be growing pains no matter who we named as GM, so why not let a highly respected guy like Lynch -- who many people believe would be a quick-study to the job -- build up our new personnel staff with his high-quality connections, all the while using that first year (a year we're not going anywhere anyway) to get acclimated?

I know it would not be a popular thing to say to some, but realistically, what do we expect? I know no one wants to just outright call it a lost season for 2017 -- I mean if something miraculous happens, great -- but everyone in the world knows our situation is one that will take time to turn around. With all these things considered, it's hard to ignore the potential that this hire brings.

lol..

I remember hearing him cover games, and he sounded legit. Granted you never know how much of that stuff is written for them to say. Also, after hearing Joe Buck cover games, you start to tune out anything they have to say.

This isn't just a rebuild. It's a kindergarten class too. The most experienced person is Tom Gamble. I hope it works out.

What a load. If you're not happy with the Niners you can always go away.
