Tonight's win...a fluke?

how can it be a fluke based upon the fact that so many " fans" breathlessly predicted we are the worse team in the nfl. kind of sad that this forum has a history of , for some reason, ALWAYS trying to dilute wins by our team. I just knew if we were win the game.. it would only be due to the fact the rams are bad,, if we win next week. it will only be due to the fact cam is not healthy etc etc etc. based upon last night,, according to the sus way of thinking.. today the niners are among the elite teams at 1-0

some of both...holding a team to zero points if an accomplishment...but Case Keenum and the Rams are the definition of hot garbage.

Rams

The truth lies somewhere in between. The Rams have offensive issues and that's a fact. We have offensive issues as well, but ours is to be expected. We have new players, new coaches and a new offense. Next week will be the real test with a QB that can throw.

But the Rams front seven was the real deal and our line held up well. Gabbert still needs to be confident throwing into NFL windows, but that's going to come with comfort in the system. I don't think even he expected to have as much time as he did in the pocket. With that amount of time, kid will be able to do some damage once he gets more comfortable. But our run game gashed that vaunted front 7.

Our defense on the other hand seems legit. Shutouts don't happen often in the NFL. If we pack this same D when we travel to Charlotte, it's going to be magnificent.

They played well, it was a good win. Hopefully they can build on it and put out a good showing versus Carolina.

Even better is that we're sending Seattle into LA with an embarrassed and angry team with their home opener. Donald is going to ragdoll Willow.

Doesn't matter how angry they are. They ain't winning anything with Keenum at QB.

You will have to be patient. He's learning a new system and his top receiver last night hasn't even unpacked all of his luggage yet. I think the 49ers have a good OL, a good front 7 on defense, and their skill players are average overall....the biggest weakess is obviously QB. Gabbert is so erratic, and Kap hasn't moved this offfense in 2 years. 8-8 would be a big accomplishment with Gabbert at QB.

Bill bellichek rarely makes comments in press confeences, however when Chip Kelly was fired by the Eagles he publicy stated it was short sighted by the team owners and that Kelly has a great offensive mind and prepares his team well.

First penalty came in the 4th quarter of MNF, WOW that is good coaching!!!

I also like that they admit the WR core sucked and traded for Kerley and Streater. My prediction is Patton will be shown the bench soon in favor of Streater

I wouldn't say the Niners are legit. It is more of the Rams playing terribly. I don't think that game was fluke at all.
