Of the top 20 Centers in the league right now:
Only 1 was a 1st round pick.
4 came in the 2nd
4 in the 3rd
4 in the 4th
1 in the 5th
AND 6 were UDFA.
So, based on the numbers, the best place to find a starting Center is on the scrap heap of Undrafted Free Agents. Now you know why Center play is not good around the league. You have a bunch of unwanted players competing against the biggest and the best. Nobody wants to play the position so you have to make due with what you can.
The problem I have with this is that out of the top 20 Centers --14 Player where drafted and 6 are undrafted. You infer it is best to fine a center as UDFA. I would rather they draft a player that can play Center . I'm guessing one of the 6 is Brendel ?
Looking at this O line Who will be on the team in 3 years? Maybe Puni if they resign him? Maybe 7th rounder Connor Colby if he improves ? Is there anyone ells that you think will be a good starter on the O line? The line has NO depth . That is a problem.
