Has Baalke done a good job of getting some speed for this offense this offseason?

So do you guys like the moves so far or is he failing to do his job well?

Some may be frustrated Cox and Cully aren't coming back. But I think Baalke is doing just fine through the first week of the offseason. No doubt in my mind he's going to add even more talent on the Dline and CB through the draft.

I would rather not have Culliver back if we would have had to match - or even compete with - that potato contract he was given. I'd like to see Cox work something out so we can consider a top WR in the first round instead of basically being forced to go with a CB. We STILL don't have a true #1 WR and haven't had one since 2003. Boldin was a top notch #2 when he got here and that's as close as we've gotten.

The dysfunction from the top down and injuries played a significant role. The main issue continues to be the play of the QB. The organization tells us they will allow their QB to be outside the pocket and use his legs more. What happens when defenses shut that down, where is he then........................back in the pocket.

Yes, the defense.

The main issue is that Roman and Harbaugh did not and could not get the max out of the talent assembled and did not adjust at all from what they wanted to do period.

The issues were the same through 2 quarterbacks with 2 completely different skill sets.
that's coaching.
sorry bro

we don't have to go with CB in the 1st round. Dontae Johnson is here.

Much better complement of player skillsets.
If Balke fixes the OLINE and the whole team stays healthy, I no doubt can see the Playoffs as a Real possibility. Gotta nail the draft tho. Gotta hit in the 1st 3 rounds.

Agreed. I think we are done making free agent moves for the offense. I also think it shows Baalkes mentality for what we are going to do in the draft. I wouldn't be surprised to see us wait until the 3-4th round to take an offensive player.
That's where you find replacemnts for those guys.

Yeah, a new offensive coordinator and a head coach who isn't stubborn enough to run the same plays every game or make halftime adjustments.
2012 was the perfect roster for our offense, and I think Baalke is trying to get back to those roots.
The new deep threat tandem of Smith and Davis is going to be deadly. Not only will it allow Kap to take some pressure off the box by slinging a couple down field, it's also gonna help our offensive line as well as Hyde.
Baalkes genius has yet to be recognized by some on these boards.
Don`t forget Simpson,He has speed also.

Yeah, the OL is REALLY critical...as is the scheme we'll run (zone blocking now?). As to the draft, I only see 1, maybe 2 potential starting spots for rookies (unless someone just blows the doors off) but most developing talent to start next year and/or beyond.

And Carrier. We just signed him to a 2-year deal as well. He could be a real weapon for us.

Thats really all that needs to happen for any team in the NFL. Hell if the Cards stayed healthy last years post season would of looked remarkably different.

No it WAS Fangio and the Defensive Staff that did the Heavy Lifting to 3 NFCC games, the offense got more offensive each yearthe problem was Harbaugh lack of adjustments, lack of Offensive Ability ,lack of willing to Change(stuborness).

What I mean is Mainstream players Like QB, starting RB/WR/Bowman stay healthy unlike last year, things will be ok.

yeah I woud like for Carrier to get more playing time, would`nt mind Carrier moving up and over McDonald, the little I was able to see Carrier play,it was impressive.

49ers 2011-2013 offensive success is when the OLINE was elite.

49ers 2014 8-8 mediocrity is when the OLINE was a crap sandwich. Basically fix the OLINE and I'll see you in the playoffs.
