I think it's usually the 1st qtr to a whole half for most starters. The first 3 preseason games. The last preseason game, the starters would only play maybe 1 or 2 drives.

IIRC:

Game 1: Starters get about one drive on each side.

Game 2: Starters get between 2 drives and 1 quarter on each side

Game 3: Starters get between 1 and 2 quarters on each side

Game 4: Starters get one or less drives on each side.

You all are wrong. The starters only come in in the final preseason game and play the whole game with no rest.

seriously, don't look for any starters in the final preseason game.

don't look for any impact starters in the first preseason game.

if you want to see most of the starters play, tune in for the third preseason game. Some starters may play into the 3rd quarter.

You''re wrong. In 2011 Niners vs. the Saints Aug. 12th (1st preseason game), Smith and the starting offense played for the 1st qtr. This is the game that the Saints blitz the hell out of us.

They played the whole first quarter because it was Harbaughs first year and the Saints kept blitzing us so we didnt work on anything other than ALex getting sacked
