For those specifically interested in Kory Sheets, here is a quote from this blog entry in case anyone misses it:

"Sheets had perhaps his best play of the offseason when he caught a short pass from Shaun Hill and burst up the field. Getting out in space and showing off his speed is Sheets' specialty."

This kid is going to be a keeper and great steal!!!

Robinson has caught 37 passes for 322 yards for an average of 8.7 per reception.

The big difference is Robinson has played for three years. Morris has been playing for nine years.

I think that Robinson is a better receiver. Morris, however, is a better fullback.

Having Robinson as our back-up fullback, at least nominally, would allow the team to keep three running backs. My best guess, and it is only a guess, is that the three would be Frank Gore, Glen Coffe, and Kory Sheets.

I'm not saying Norris is the better pass catcher. It's just that he is capable of doing a decent job at it.

Robinson will make the team because of his out of the backfield pass catching and special teams play.

I agree 100% Norris is a true Fullback, but Robinson can come in and throw the D off, back up Norris, and maybe continue to groom as a FB while making plays on ST this season. I would love to to see Gore/Coffee/Sheets/Norris/Robinson cut Clayton, he does well in pre season, but its against 2nd, 3rd teammers

i remember last year in the Rams game at home, the Miami game, and the Redskins game, Robinson made a big impact in the passing game. His one play that he produced on many times was a simple streak up the middle of the field in which Hill would hit him after he ran about 10 yards or so. The guy can't run for s**t, but his special teams play and occasional catching skills will keep him on the team.
PW is sitting out practice today according to Maiocco. He doesn't know why yet. I'm more curious than concerned.
Patrick Willis has strain ankle - M.M.

Is that bad??
Other than a staff infection, I look at every small injury as a chance to give other people playing time. Especially after the organization admitted faking an injury to Hill last year so JTO could start taking the reps.

The team is probably leaning towards Bly @ CB so they sit Brown. They probably want to protect Willis so they sit him out.

Brooks does look good...we will see...huh, MadDog?

Here's an article on it...nice.

So far in the morning hill had a nice downfield pass, and went 4-4. He also had a nice bomb that once again jones caught leaping over marcus hudson. I wonder if jones is really gonna make things happen this year, cause God knows he hasnt shown anything from his former team yet.

Maiocco clarified and said it is a 'mild ankle strain (which is different than a sprain)', doesn't sound too serious.

When did they admit this?

Matt M tweeted Niners coach Singletary is "excited" by what he's seen from OLB Ahmad Brooks.

This must burn real hard for Maddog. lol
