Looks like Davis is going to be a big part of the offense this year if the first 2 days of training camp are any indication. According to MM, he has 11 receptions and Jones is second w/ 6

Barrows Blog - Day 2
For those specifically interested in Kory Sheets, here is a quote from this blog entry in case anyone misses it:
"Sheets had perhaps his best play of the offseason when he caught a short pass from Shaun Hill and burst up the field. Getting out in space and showing off his speed is Sheets' specialty."

Hey, does anyone know how much Michael Robinson is weighing these days...I am guessing over 240 lbs. at this point.
really doubt that. At most i think 235 but likely 230, he entered the league at 220 if im not mistaken.
IMO, it would be great for the team to have Robinson starting at FB. He held his own with Willis yesterday during the Nutcracker. If his blocking is comparable to Norris, he'd give the team more weapons.
Having Robinson starting at full-back seems like a stretch, but I could see him as the fullback on third down passing plays, as he can catch the ball quite well.
Don't forget Norris is pretty decent at catching the ball. Recall his TD against Denver during the last game of '06 season.
Morris has caught 27 passes for 147 yards for an average of 5.4 per reception.
Robinson has caught 37 passes for 322 yards for an average of 8.7 per reception.
The big difference is Robinson has played for three years. Morris has been playing for nine years.
I think that Robinson is a better receiver. Morris, however, is a better fullback.
Having Robinson as our back-up fullback, at least nominally, would allow the team to keep three running backs. My best guess, and it is only a guess, is that the three would be Frank Gore, Glen Coffe, and Kory Sheets.

Nice. I also hope coffee turns into an effective short yardage guy.

Glad Alex Boone is doing well. I saw him play and he is pretty agile for a big guy and he is no Kwame no fame Harris. I never saw a guy who had slower reactions then Harris. He was reaching for a player that had already passed him many times. He had sloth blood in him. Alex seems motivated too so this could be a big oppurtunity for him. Actually he could do well as guard but I think he just may be too good to waste when he could play tackle pretty well. I actually hope we keep Boone and maybe Bender but Sims is just a waste of time. I think one of the new guys may stick at guard too though I suspect both Boone and Bender could do pretty well there if needed.

Good to hear Boone and Sheets playing well. I think Boone has a future as a starting RT in this league and Kory Sheets could be a Leon Washington type player in the NFL.

Josh Morgan, that's whats going to happen to him, then when Josh is done, Jason Hill will reach higher in the depth chart, and then Brandon Jones.
So to be honest, nothing will happen to Crabs, but that's exactly the point. When the season starts, he will not produce nothing because according to his agent he is a number 3 pick, even though for some strange reason we are sitting there at #10 and we get him.
(p.s. to Mr Parker, why sell youself short and not claim he's the #1 pick, Why stop at number 3?)
I never liked crabs not only cuz ima Texas fans but if you watched all his Highlight reels, Majority of those plays came against WEAK teams. Bayor, rice, UTEP, and the one play he had against Texas to win the game, not to mention the corner covering him on that play was a Freshman.
Stop spreading stupidity.
Crabtree had over 120 yards against Texas in 2008 ... not one catch.
In 2007 (FRESHMAN YEAR) he had 195 yards and 2 TDs against Texas, one of his TDs was over 70 yards.
Against OU in 2007 (OU was ranked #3 at the time) he had over 140 yards and scored a 60+ yard touchdown to give Texas Tech the lead.
Against Virginia in the Gator Bowl he had over 100 yards on a bad foot and caught the TD that began Tech's comeback ... VA had one of the ACC's top defenses that season.
Crabtree played against 9 ranked teams in his career and had field days against most of them.
I only really remember one bad game in his career, against Mizzou in 07 when Harrell never had time to get the ball to him.

Stupidity huh, well lets see, how many games in the 08 season did he go over a hundred yards??
4 games. the rest were Sub 100 yard games.
8 Games sub 100 yards, that's not exactly having a field day is it? and that's not even including the Bowl game which again he did not have a 100 yard game but a 30 yard game. Granted he got hurt but your acting like he was billy bad ass his Senior year.
so dont come at me like im speaking stupidity, Michael crabtree his the result of a spread offense with the "Mike Martz" of college football.
Im sorry i didnt realize that all his accomplishments in college already made him better than J. Morgan, J. Hill, and B. Jones in the Pros.
So he played good until he's Senior Year. Not to mention Crabtree seems like a Diva more than a football player.
Hell but i hope he proves me wrong and makes me eat crow, because that'll be better for the team.
But for a team that had the Best wide Receiver to ever play in the NFL, i think some people over rate Michael Crabtree like you good sir.

Crabtree was a SOPHOMORE last season ... he came out two years early, my God man, get your facts straight.
So no he wasn't 'billy badass' his senior season, because his senior season would have been in 2010.
What are you talking about his 2008 year was no good? The guy was hurt since the A&M game ... I was at all of his home games and 2 of his road games last season, I know what I'm saying.
Take any WR's foot and twist it 60 degrees, then have him sit out half a game and come back and put up the numbers Crabtree did.
He was STILL the #2 or 3 WR in the country purely based on numbers, and #1 when it came to making clutch plays.
Oh yeah, I was at the bowl game, he was so hurt he couldn't even run routes or cut. And he still scored when he out-muscled an Ole Miss corner. By that game he was suffering from: Hurt foot from the Baylor game, Hurt ankle from the Texas game, and hurt ankle (other side) from the A&M game.
You say he wasn't special in 2008, name one WR who was better? Dez Bryant? Sorry, the guy was shut down in 5 games, and only scored 2 TDs on the road all season.
The saddest thing is that you believe what you are saying ... and you're putting words in my mouth too ... I never said he was better than Hill and Morgan etc, I said he was a great player in college and you said he was nothing special. You made a few BS comments and I called you out on it.
