The San Francisco 49ers are exploring defensive back options as they prepare for their Week 4 matchup against the Denver Broncos. According to Aaron Wilson of KPRC2, the 49ers worked out veteran cornerback Sam Webb on Tuesday.

Webb entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent with the Las Vegas Raiders in 2022 out of Missouri Western State. During his NFL career, he has appeared in games for the Raiders, Carolina Panthers, and Cleveland Browns.
Interestingly, Webb spent part of the offseason with the 49ers' next opponent. He signed with the Denver Broncos on July 30 before being released on August 8.
Webb then signed with the New York Giants but spent only three days with the team before being placed on the reserve/retired list.
During the 2025 season with the Browns, Webb appeared in seven games, including two starts. He recorded eight tackles, one pass defensed, and returned a fumble 47 yards for a touchdown.
Over four NFL seasons, Webb has appeared in 36 games and made five starts. He has totaled 45 tackles and four passes defensed during his career.
