This must burn real hard for Maddog. lol

I'd love to see Brooks blow up, but aren't we getting a bit ahead of ourselves here? After all . . .

We talkin' bout practice. Not a game. Practice.

Nah, we are not getting ahead of ourselves. We have genuine hope that we may have an inexpensive solution to our pass rushing woes. I don't think Coach S. is getting ahead of himself either.

I think it is just genuine excitement, that's all.

I like the fact that our LB's depth is solid.... now, the d line...

I disagree, at least at OLB depth I do.

ILB's - Willis, Spikes, McKillop, Ulbrich, Roland -

OLB's - Lawson, Haralson, Brooks, Harris, Briggs, Washington -

4 outta 6 OLB's are question marks, that position screams for an upgrade and more depth.

This is why I am so excited.

If Brooks and Lawson can step it up along with Haralson, then we can add to those three next year in a heavy DE/OLB draft! We can start building on that quality depth.

Hmmmm....wouldn't it be awesome if next year, our pass-rushing squad become like our WR squad this year?

I want to start a thread on the LBs alone but I will just state it here. Take out Ahmad Brooks from the equation altogether right now and here's what we have:

1. Patrick Willis: THE best LB in the League.

2. Haralson: with 8 sacks and he's still a developing player considering his position of learning pass rushing technique and holding the run, 8 sacks is pretty damn good for a guy who didn't get on the field as much as most starting LBs.

3. Manny Lawson: you say he's the wild card, I say he's there. He gives you what a Sam gives you but above average. He is VERY strong against the run, he is very strong against the pass and he started to come out late last year. If he doesn't get many sacks, he will be disrupting a lot of timing. The week before he got hurt, Big Ben didn't say they were planning for HIM for the s**ts and giggles. He poses a presence on the field for the offense.

4. Spikes: Played far above what we expected of him and didn't see a drop-off for his age. Still a better than average LB in the league and we seem to have a very solid backup in McKillop.

Now add in any, if at all production by Brooks and I can see why we didn't draft high at these positions.

Great assesment, I could not agree more. It is also nice to have the depth there at LB, hopefully that means we can send them in as platoons.

It's all yummy gravy, now.

Remember last year's TC. Coach Nowin was more concerned about tempo than correcting plays that weren't run the way they were supposed to. He had the team keep moving on from dropped balls or sloppy play. Sheesh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What a waste of time.

I firmly believe that Nolan was, is & always will be the only cancer that needed to be cut.

Ah, don't sweat it. Anyone can get occasionally outplayed in space by leverage. Just so long as it is a rarity. Sopoaga, from what we read earlier, has been looking very good overall. Hopefully, he will focus on just how he got beat in this particular instance, and remember how to defeat it in the future.

Yeah I haven't heard anything negative about Jones yet either. Its still just practice, but good news is always simply good news. Wish I could be there to see it myself.

Maybe so... I liked this addition as an UDFA. Unless mistaken, Howard has experience at OT and OG. When I read his bio, I thought of a young version of Snyder.
