Funny,Hill did really good with that same lame offensive coordinator and the same O line and same WR's etc.,that Smith had such a hard time with(when he was 100% healthy). Hill is just better, face it.

Hill did better?? He played in what 2 games if that. And this was after Smith and Dilfer had been injured. You don't think that after having 2 QB's injured they changed the play calling to be a little safer to try and not end up having to go to Winky dinky Chris Weinke? C'mon now This Hill jocking is getting a little out of hand.

Just so you know.... Hill has NEVER, in his entire NFL career, started and play a full 16 game schedule.
Hill's entire career starting Q.B. track record is starting games in the 2nd half of the last two seasons with 9ers.
He has NEVER started and played an entire 16 game schedule.
With that track record, is Hill STILL a mystery.... yes, me thinks so.

No, the taking shots at each other is getting out of hand. Either discuss the quarterbacks or don't post in here.

Smith sympathizers need to realize he just does not have "it". You know what I mean. It can't be explained when we say a QB has "it".
And while I'm not saying Hill is a pro-bowler for the next 10 years he has "it". Like Takeo said he will win games for us.

I heard somebody compare Hill to Jim McMahon.
Doesn't look pretty in practice
Doesn't look pretty in some games
Passes aren't pretty but he wins.
Use what you have, good defense and a running game.
Maybe too many of us 9er fans are so use to great passers, finesse passers and receivers and we are not use to having a Buccaneeer, Ravens type of offense when they won the Super Bowl.
I'll admit I'm still getting use to it.

Uhmmmm.....Jim McMahon had a cannon for an arm. Hill does not compare to McMahon.

He does in all of the other aspects that he used to compare the two.

I have seen Davis throw many passes in his GREAT career at Ball State. And every time he is spoken of at camp by either Matt,he is said to have a very accurate cannon arm ,etc.
Bringing your game from college to the NFL is a big adjustment. And as we have seen with alex,it doesn't always work out as hoped. But we KNOW that Davis has better tools than Alex, now we have to wait to see if he can put those tools to work for the team and reach his potential, which is great.
Wow..lets see where to begin.
What Davis did in college means precisely jack all in the NFL. And you can look into Matt's accounts all you want considering that even their accounts are only based off 3-4 throws.

I would like you to tell me how you "know" that Davis has better tools than Alex.
The guys hasn't even thrown a pass in preseason............

Guys, Alex is another Rashaun (bigger let down of course; wish we would have gotten Rodgers)...lets move on and give Hill the rock and the job going forward...

He would have never held up to the beating that the QB took because of the terrible pass blocking. He is nowhere near as tough as Smith, he would have been a bigger bust due to injury.
