Nice throws, ball has some zip. His QB sneak technique is terrible lol.

he needs to make the team.. I don't see how Granpa Josh made it and Darnold wont... Darnold can be what Foles was w/the Eagles.. He can start when needs to and can go on a roll, but don't expect him to be superb for the whole season..

DARNOLD's gots to be the 3rd stringer at least..

Huh? Who is claiming he won't make the team?

He's so lost all the time lol
He had some nice throws today. Want to see more next time
It was nice seeing a QB nail the fade and put the ball on a line from the far hash to outside the numbers.

Good throws, and one of the sneaky plays I liked was him pressured right up the middle. He jukes the guy, rolls to his left, keeps eyes downfield for anywhere to put the ball, keeps rolling and throws out of bounds. So he avoided the rusher, and the negative play, and actually bought our guys some time to get open. We see BP does this also. I think Sam moves pretty darn well. And he can really spin it, if given the clean pocket.
Sammy spinnin the rock like a top!!! he looked good yesterday

That was a nice play but he also later took a huge chance on that throw where he tried to sneak the ball right by a defender into a super small window. It fell incomplete but those are the kind of throws that have led to his TOs.

That LB barely got a finger on that pass, and Bell still had a chance to catch it. Other two defenders were over the top and not near Bell. Didn't seem like a bad decision to me.
Solid arm on this guy

Sure.

Best arm ever for a 49ers QB? I don't see that though.

I believe the description was "most talented thrower of the football" the Niners have ever had. I haven't seen enough to say that. But his ball definitely had more zip on it than Trey, it was a significant difference in my opinion.
Preseason should basically be a battle for QB3/ 3rd string. I don't want to see Josh Johnsons face EVER again after that trash Eagles game.

Jim Tomsula's love child
By my count Darnold only had two bad plays: the bad decision which nearly got picked, and the one inexplicably inaccurate short pass. But otherwise he had several excellent throws. I'm not saying he's the savior, but if Purdy really is struggling and continues to do so, Darnold still has some excellent traits, if he can not turn the ball over so much.
