Well, I don't imagine any of our 3 QB's can play without an O line and without any starters. So right now your assessment has no value.

Brock Purdy played well enough last season, in the pre -season without any starters, to make the team as the last man drafted.

There is always an excuse. He has made many bad throws today with a clean pocket including several near picks. Bottom line is that Lance has played one season of football since high school, and as of yet has not shown himself to be a NFL caliber QB. Feel free to make more excuses if you want but the 49ers and the NFL will not, it is what it is for him and every other player. Reality vs. potential.

jesus
About to lose his job to Sam freakin' Darnold.
Trey looks clunky. Realize he's not getting any time to throw but his footwork is putrid!

If the line plays like it has been, I don't think he will. Sam Darnold sucks under pressure.
Some bad, some good. His mechanics look better.

What does the OL have to do with him not being able to read a defense and get the ball out on time?

He also missed 2 other throws badly so far. He didn't pull the trigger when he should have on at least one other.

Then got bailed out on the touchdown deflection which should have been picked.

He's just been very, very bad.

127 passer rating if you're into that sort of thing, lol.

Take off that lucky TD and the rating goes way down. And could/should have been 2 INT's. He did not look good overall. Couple of nice throws. When he has a perfectly clean pocket and the first read is open, he looks solid. When there is any sort of OL breakdown and/or the first read is covered, he looks panicked.

He's an athletic guy with minimum reps. He's a total project and the unfortunate part is we don't have time to let him go through growing pains with this roster.

He is working on his poor mechanics when he should have that down and focus on reading defenses, working the pocket and going through progressions. The multiple injuries made it worse and running him like a fullback didn't help either. If we could combine Purdy's qb skills with Lance's athleticism we'd have a stud.

So far it seems like this was not a good pick.

🙄🙄 Should we analyze what the qb room looks like from a statistical standpoint if they actually counted could/should of INT's from all the qbs?

He literally got every 1st team rep last offseason. He looks confused and unsure of anything.

How do you remove a TD but want to count almost INTs? Unless someone is arguing for Trey to be the starter, none of this is making sense.

Agreed. I was joking about how passer rating is a massively flawed way of judging qb play (even though a larger sample would be better.). People love the stat.
Needs the snaps.

Going to be good to see that route to the right opening deep on one of those sacks.

Loving the room for growth given more film.
