Yes it was. But even busts have good throws. There is more to quarterbacking then having a nice throw.

No s**t. What a genius you are.

Calm down whats with the tough guy attitude.

Can't someone post a clip of a good throw from Lance without you trolls needing to s**t on it lol.

Wow you trolls huh, didn't you just do the same to Jose?? There's other ways to go about it instead of attacking someone. People so enamored with a nice pass, Jose is just saying there's more to it.

Thank you captain obvious. Doesn't mean we need to pretend Trey is Jamarcus Russell either. We all know there is more to being a QB than making pretty throws but insinuating like Lance can't do the other things well is disingenuous.

I wasn't insinuating anything. I was simply stating that any qb, even busts, will have good throws. It's not something that sets you apart.

What sets you apart are the nuances. The ability to process, the ability to play well when the game is on the line, the in pocket mobility, the ability to place the ball to lead the receiver, the leadership. And that is what Shanahan was referring to when he called purdy the real deal.

There is nothing disingenuous in saying trey can't do these things because we HAVE NOT seen it yet. It's more.disingenuous to say he can do these things when he hasn't. What proof do you have? I'm not saying it's never going to.click for him, but we haven't seen it. Ive always doubted the pick, but I'm rooting for him. I just haven't seen anything yet to truly believe he can be a great qb.

And these stories coming from reporters about improvement? I won't believe anything until I actually see him in a game. Trey had all the reporters salivating over him during his rookie training camp. It got my hopes up that i was wrong. When he finally got in the game he looked lost and confused. I'm not buying any of it until I see it for myself. I'm not getting my hopes up again.

I'll root for the kid if he stays on the 49ers or he lands on another team.

The only sources putting out that trade chatter are from outside the team. I think a lot of external pundits ran their mouth so much trying to convince everyone that Darnold was gonna be great and Lance wasn't gonna be able to keep up, that now they're just doubling down in different ways. I haven't seen any of that from the 49ers beat writers.

Wow you trolls huh, didn't you just do the same to Jose?? There's other ways to go about it instead of attacking someone. People so enamored with a nice pass, Jose is just saying there's more to it.

Jose has done nothing more than just troll since the day we drafted Lance. You have plenty of posts doing the same. So I'm not surprised you're sticking up for him. His reply was ment to instigate and start s**t. Grown men with a tik tok mentality

it seems like he started off a bit slow but has really picked it up in past few practices.

Yah show me where I talk s**t like that to someone, go ahead I'll wait. I don't need to do that on the internets. His reply is what it is, you people took it the wrong way.

pretty ez to see what KS thinks... he is supportive of TL yet he is splitting 2nd teams reps and has Brandon Allen hot on his heels, yesterday he referred to Big Cock Brock as "The Real Deal"

You mean the many years of you talking down to anyone that ever said anything negative about Smith or Jimmy? Lol...

And nothing was taken the wrong way, his reply was just to s**t on Lance. Imagine if someone posted a clip of Drake having a good pass rush attempt in a drill and the reply would've been, busts have done this too, there's more to playing DE than a nice swim move.

Let people posts positive clips of whatever player, no need to try and act like a emo douche about it.

Why is doubting a draft pick being a troll? Is that the easy way of winning an argument when someone disagrees with your position? I never liked the pick. I still dont like the pick. Can I still be wrong? Of course, and I hope.i am. As of right now trey has done nothing to prove to me that I am. Sorry if that's trolling.
Kap and TL similarities in play:

tall frame
strong arm
unorthodox ugly throwing motion
same type of single throw passer
only throw decent ball is a laser
no touch
struggles with accuracy
struggles with short throws in the flat
low ball position and arm during loading
slashes delivery across body
low elbow below shoulder line
struggles to climb pocket while making reads
locks into target
tendency for tunnel vision
both decent runners in open space
both quiet leaders
didn't take defenses long to catch up to Kap, has already happened to TL

Again you still haven't shown me where I have many post of me attacking someone.

Again its not a s**t reply, Trey Lance has shown he can male every throw in the NFL. Cool, big deal, don't s**t on us if some or us aren't amazed by that.

And you telling people how they should act yet you're the one attacking a poster. Unreal.

Yah I clearly don't, yet I've been in here talking nothing but football.

The Kap comparisons with Trey drive me crazy. Not saying specifically that's who you were comparing him to but i know I saw it earlier too.

Fact is Trey has way less experience playing QB than Kap and still shows a lot more touch, advanced QBing and much better mental part of the game than Kap at the same point in their careers.

There are reasons why Kap got crap from even Crabtree(you'd figure Crab would have some loyalty) about his film study habits.

The pick to Winters was a bad decision and Kyle explained it. It wasn't an issue of touch. Perhaps he couldn't thrown the ball with more touch to get it over Winters but if you watch the play it was a full extension jump ball and Winters gets it. Trey simply thought he had enough room to hit the deep ball there when the smart and safer choice was hit the underneath and not risk the turnover. It's a learning situation for Trey.

But he's a lot further along as a QB than Kap was even if the stats aren't as impressive.

Lance has way more touch than Kap, I felt like kap never really had it. I'm sure he showed it here and there but it wasn't consistent in his game at all. Deebo has even talked about the added touch Lance has now.

that throw that was picked from kap to Crabtree was just awful, it should of had much more arch to it, like many of his passes should have. He just never improved it. It was almost like he was tryin to "prove people wrong" by cramming it in there all the time instead of adjusting.

i liked kap but soured on him over time. I like lances skill set much more, and his personality. Having that "I'm going to prove everyone wrong" all the time mentality can be a double edged sword and toxic. I like the head that Lance has on his shoulders, much more. His work ethic too.

Crazy ppl here want to get rid of any of our QBs given our past history. In the Shanahan era outside of 2019, we had to use at least more than 1 QB every year (multiple times going to QB3 which is f**king crazy if you think about it).

We play a number 1 schedule this year so risk for QB injury may be higher (better teams-->better pass rushers-->more sacks-->greater likelihood for injury). Btw all of our QBs have significant recent (like last year) injury histories including Darnold (missed the majority of the beginning of last season with a bad high ankle sprain).

We aren't trading anyone. Allen will be kept on the PS and protected for the max number of weeks then moved to the active roster. (especially if we have another injury).

Last thing Shanahan wants to do is try to find a Josh Johnson type QB late in the season especially in the playoffs.

Man our injury history has to change.. statistically it is absolutely insane how we've been so unlucky. We've been the most injured team in the league since kyle took over in 2017. One of our years was one of the worst seasons ever for a team injury wise.

it's so improbable for a team to have this many injuries, you'd imagine the statistics will balance out eventually - especially to our key players. It's f**kin depressing. Lol

Got to load up the backups as best you can talent-wise, so you can project that they will play well in a significant part of your upcoming season. So a guy like Allen is given reps, despite the media outcry that the reps should only go to Brock and Trey (as an example). Brock was a quality backup until he had to start and he knocked it out of the park. I think you have to put a lot of pressure on your scouting department and analytics department to make sure you find the best diamonds in the rough at the back end of your team, knowing you will need those backups during the season, and maybe into the playoffs. Hope for the best, but plan for the worst.

I understand what you're saying and agree but there is a consistent correlation to who wins the super bowls and who stays healthy. The reality of it is that if half your team is injured, even if the depth is good young talent, you're going to struggle. Too much inexperience, chemistry issues, learning curves etc.

i get that injuries will happen and guys will have to fill in, but you need a majority of your starts, specifically the high quality ones, to be available. It's ruined our chances many times and many other teams. The team that wins it is usually the one with their main guys available and able to play at a high level.
