Gonna be a fun week of overreacting in here. Day one been fun.

It's like a shockwave. Super intense immediately, then everyone cools down as they realize it was a weird weather game, Lance wasn't horrible/wasn't good either. It should be a good weather situation in Santa Clara Sunday. Our team will be salty. Our team is better than SEA.

That game should be graded as such.

we were supposed to be better than the bears. weather excuses.. it was the same for both teams,, treys issue was the o line in large part in my opinion.

But it was NOT the same for both teams. No rain during the Bears first two TD drives. Then when the Niners got the ball back it started pouring rain.

Our TD did come after a 3rd and 3 neutral zone infraction from the Bears. So we scored 3 without the help from their penalties if we're going to use that

Yeah but we don't know if we would have converted or not on that 3rd down. A big difference from getting a stop on 3rd down and then getting called for a penalty afterwards.

Another fantastic point that shows how ridiculous it is to compare the two things.
Kid needs alot of work

Beyond the numbers, brother. Fields flashed special. Literally won the game for his time because no one made anything happen. That receiver was that open because Justin scrambled and threw back... HE did that. It wasn't a blown coverage. You're trying to downplay his performance by pretending like there wasn't a drastic difference in Chicago's offense in the 2nd half.

It was 1000% a blown coverage. No reason Greenlaw needed to leave to go pursue.

Blown because Fields escaped pressure and was a potential threat as a runner.. see how that works? Greenlaw didn't get lost on his own.

pettis was literally just standing there. there should have been a defender occupying that area of the field.

guys this isn't difficult to understand

Because Greenlaw dashed after Fields assuming he was going to scramble. Even then, he threw across the field with a soaked football in a downpour. If that was Tre Lance you guys would be lining up to sing his praises.

Greenlaw ran with the RB not Fields....

his short game will take longer to develop, we've known this. it doesn't help throwing in a monsoon in the 4th quarter either

Yeah and dont forget the refs.. and the fans.. and having to travel.. and having to play on 9/11.. the bears clearly cheated and deserve zero credit. Everyone has it out for the 49ers!!

Am I doing it right?

Its a terrible argument though.

You are trying to draw parallels between a running back being totally stopped and our player flying in and grabbing his facemask to our QB hard counting and drawing multiple Bears defenders into the neutral zone.

I am drawing parallels to penalties keeping drives alive to allow other team to score.

I concede its not apples to apples because we weren't actually stopped before the penalty However

you sound like an iowa fan,, blaming losses on the rain,,, if we are good as some said we were.. we could have over come that,.. but no.. cuz we kept shooting ourselves in the foot to stop our drives and extend theirs..... the penalties... and the awful o line protection which were the top two negatives are not on the weather

I saw a lot of encouraging signs as well. Just hit those layups. Take chances down the field. Trust in Deebo / BA over rookie dbs in one on one situations. He's moving well in the pocket and he threw two total dimes one to BA prior to the Deebo fumble and one to Ray Ray. Good velo on the strike to Dwelley.

I think last year when he had two significant injuries his performance was a wash. Not making excuses just to make excuses but if he's not anywhere close to 100% he's not anywhere close to 100%

What I remember in the fourth quarter of the Super Bowl and the last drive of the Rams game is Jimmy having people on top of him almost before his drop back is even complete. Sure, they were probably pinning their ears back knowing we were passing. But it also exposed just how much the offensive line sucked at pass protection, particularly on the interior.

A worse Kirk Cousins, not sure that's entirely accurate either. Jimmy is definitely no world beater but Cousins has that reputation of doing nothing in the clutch ever. Can't say that for Jimmy. It's just that he failed when it counted the most.

100%

So defenders making a mistake after a QB makes a smart decision. Like sliding…

Player being offsides vs questioning if a late hit happened on a QB? What about Deebo fumbling in the RZ. Damn Trey.

I don't think either QB was good and it's hard to judge much of anything in that type of weather. Ya'll want to crucify the kid have it. Imo there will be plenty of time to do that as the season goes on.
There is no place on a Super Bowl contending roster for on-the-job training.
