Yeah but we don't know if we would have converted or not on that 3rd down. A big difference from getting a stop on 3rd down and then getting called for a penalty afterwards.

Another fantastic point that shows how ridiculous it is to compare the two things.

Eexactly my point. They mortgaged their future for this guy, he better be ready. No excuses, if he's not ready bench his ass. This is a Super Bowl roster and the NFL is a fickle place. Win now or win never.

Trey needs work but he absolutely wasn't the reason for yesterday's loss. let him continue to take his lumps.

Its a terrible argument though.

You are trying to draw parallels between a running back being totally stopped and our player flying in and grabbing his facemask to our QB hard counting and drawing multiple Bears defenders into the neutral zone.

I am drawing parallels to penalties keeping drives alive to allow other team to score.

I concede its not apples to apples because we weren't actually stopped before the penalty However

But this penalty DIDNT keep the drive alive to allow us to score though, so your concession is essentially admitting the penalties are in no way the same thing.

Blown because Fields escaped pressure and was a potential threat as a runner.. see how that works? Greenlaw didn't get lost on his own.

He didn't need to leave his spot though. It's him playing out of control. Now sure it wasn't for nothing but it's absolutely a blown coverage.

He will get there but it's going to take some time. Fans just need to be patient. Not trying to beat a dead horse but it took Josh Allen 3 years. Not Everyone is going to just hit the ground running. Bills fans I am sure are thrilled the organization didn't listen to them because they were asking to trade him midway through his rookie season.

Why is that a laughable comment? It's a great post imo. Only reason TL should start is he gives the best chance to win. We gotta see it. JG won in Chicago last year and played very well in that game. The weather gives a pass for a lot of the final drives yesterday. Let's see it next week. If TL is not ahead of JG right now in talent he shouldn't be starting. Play only the best ppl at each position.. the ones that give the best chance to win.

So defenders making a mistake after a QB makes a smart decision. Like sliding…

Player being offsides vs questioning if a late hit happened on a QB? What about Deebo fumbling in the RZ. Damn Trey.

I don't think either QB was good and it's hard to judge much of anything in that type of weather. Ya'll want to crucify the kid have it. Imo there will be plenty of time to do that as the season goes on.

Deebos fumble is on him but cute straw man. Alright we just need the rest of the games to perfect weather for our QB cause it's not fair he had to play in the rain.

He wasn't the reason we won either
Here's what I saw of Lance.....granted he has very limited experience, but it was like watching his predecessors: took too long too scan the field, thereby missing open receivers, a luxury he couldn't afford with that crap O-line; consistently threw low or behind his receivers when he wasn't overthrowing them; took some sacks when he could have thrown it away. How was that any different than the guys that came before and let's hope some of it was a factor of the inclement weather!
Frankly, I saw none of the guy his teammates and coaches raved about in training camp and who we gave up the farm for, but neither do I think it's time to panic and call it a complete loss. It's hard to be patient after that debacle, but what choice do we have?

QB hasn't been the reason we've won many games the last few years.

Most do after 3 games

Kap didn't. He didn't even need one game. The moment he stepped onto the field he was already killing it immediately, took us to a Super Bowl in the same year and was hot for a couple of years.

Likewise, Jimmy's first couple of NFL games with the Pats were also pretty impressive which ultimately led to the 9ers agreeing to trade for him when Belichick called up. To follow up from his Pats outing, Jimmy also killed it immediately the moment Beathard was injured and scored a touchdown right away against the Seahawks with 2 mins left in the game. He then started for the 9ers and won all 5 remaining games of the season when the 9ers only had one lousy win all season before his arrival.

no matter how Baby Face does this year, we shouldn't judge him by it..

he is young. ... he is raw.. he showed talent.. but the fact is, he only played ONE FULL SEASON at a small school.. he's against ALL ODDS..

It's NOT his fault that Lynch and KS10 took him 3rd overall because he was able to launch a 60 yard bomb while rolling to his left during his workout !!

NOT HIS FAULT!!

BUT we can judge Kyle and Lynch for putting us in the position of wasting an entire year of our window to compete to develop a project.

It was just one game.. but I can point to a couple plays and say Fields was the reason CHI won. Two plays in particular. You may say.. well those guys were wide open. So was Kroft. Hit your layups.

End of the day it's just one game.. there is still a whole season out there for TL and us to WIN.

Right. I wasnt thrilled with how Trey played yesterday, but I thought he was ok given the circumstances. He will get better. We have seen Jimmy in weather games before and he wasnt any better.
