Like Eric Davis also said, that's fine but you need to have a similar backup with the same kind of skill set.

I can't believe he didn't end up with a big concussion on that 4th and goal. IF he had gotten a concussion then you're right back to where you were last week...bringing in a QB with a different skill set, trying to run a game plan NOT designed for him.

He was supposed to throw on that play. Easy TD to Mitchell there.

I'm not sure what that has to do with my post, but OK.

I've said it all season, the biggest thing we need is for Aiyuk to step the crap up. 3 times in that game, pressure situation, needing a play and seeing single-man coverage Murray went to Hopkins who beat his man. We did that once with Aiyuk and it was as tight of coverage as you can get.

We saw Russ go to D.K. in these situations, Rodgers go to Adams, Mahomes goes to Kelce or Hill, whoever isn't doubled, Dak goes to Cooper, Stafford goes to Kupp, Brady goes to a trio of guys. We need a true X receiver. Aiyuk was a 1st round draft pick and hasn't looked anything like one this season.

No matter who our qb is, if teams can double the middle which is where Deebo and Kittle are best, we need someone to win on the outside. We've all seen Deebo gets zero separation on outside. Aiyuk HAS to be this.

In 2019, our offense transformed into something much more once we got Emannuel Sanders. Remember how any times Jimmy would go to Emann vs man-cov? Neither qb has that and the offense just looks......bleh....

Aiyuk looked the part the last month plus last year with sub-par QB play, but this year.......I honestly don't know what's up. Shanahan says he's been hurt/behind Sherfield.....after speculation was that he was in KS's doghouse. Did he get a lot of snaps yesterday? If he's 100%, he needs to be on the field as much as any of the other skill positions.

He was on the field a ton, was vs GB, was vs SEA. I kept telling people after GB that our receivers weren't winning routes, Aiyuk was one of them. People want to see this passing game evolve, we need that X receiver. You can be successful if you have 2 of 3 things.

Strong run game
Guys who can make plays with the ball in their hands
A top X receiver.

If you have 2 of those 3, you can do some damage on offense because one will help and play off the other. We were supposed to have all 3.

Mayo was talking about too many called runs and you pointed out the 4th and goal, which wasn't a designed run. If he had gotten a concussion on that play, it wasn't on Kyle.
I sincerely hope Kyle gets rid of this stupid Cam Newton style offense with Trey. Also, I'm concerned about the wind up.. I don't know if there's any way to fix that release speed, because it's a problem right now.

Gotcha.
I've seen enough, IMO the only people who should want to see Jimmy at QB for is again are Deebo fantasy managers!

Trey gives us at least an equal chance of winning a game as Jimmy does right now, and anyone who doesn't think that he has room to grow just doesn't know football.

Trey will develop, the offense will improve with him as he does, and we'll get to where we want to go.

The Trey era has arrived

Agreed...slow release gives enough time for the DL to react and bat the ball down. Curiously, it seems like Jimmy has quite a few batted balls as well. As a team, we appear to get more than our fair share of them and it may have cost the team a SB win. Perhaps the OL not gut punching the DL to keep their arms down combined with Shanny's pass offense primarily over the middle has something to do with it.

He's saying that it wasn't a run call from Kyle (like mayo was saying Kyle needs to cool it with those calls)...if Lance would have throw that to Mitchell that's probably a TD and Lance isn't feeling that hit in the AM.

He will learn and I like the heart there. Kid was throwing it all on the line yesterday, I respect that.

The whole Josh Allen comparison with Trey Lance I really do not see at all. They are quite a bit different in my opinion. Josh's arm is much stronger and his release is much quicker. For running styles, Josh is much more physical and bigger where Lance is more agile and quick. Both have/had accuracy issues coming out of college but that's about all I see for similarities.

I think a QB Lance reminds me of is Jalen Hurts.

Lance isn't quick at all. Seems to me he's running in slow motion.

I already acknowledged that. I was confused because he quoted my tweet which didn't have anything to do with what I was saying. All good.

This is discouraging to say the least. He really looked like a guy that would make the next step after last season.

I have no idea why people are so over the top with his throwing motion. There are plenty of very good QBs that don't have short compact releases. Wilson/Mahomes are two right now.

agreed.

IMO if they didn't have a billion holding calls, this game and play-calling would have been vastly different. We would have had more running plays (from the RB) and a lot more PA from under center.

They were constantly behind the chains...look at these stats, the fact that they still moved the ball is kinda shocking.

Still need to get more than yards, but If they cut down on the penalties they would have won IMO.
