Yeah saw that after, sorry.

I've seen enough, IMO the only people who should want to see Jimmy at QB for is again are Deebo fantasy managers!

Trey gives us at least an equal chance of winning a game as Jimmy does right now, and anyone who doesn't think that he has room to grow just doesn't know football.

Trey will develop, the offense will improve with him as he does, and we'll get to where we want to go.

The Trey era has arrived

And I'm all for it!
All Hail the Trey Era in the Trey Area!

No worries.

I sincerely hope Kyle gets rid of this stupid Cam Newton style offense with Trey. Also, I'm concerned about the wind up.. I don't know if there's any way to fix that release speed, because it's a problem right now.

I have no idea why people are so over the top with his throwing motion. There are plenty of very good QBs that don't have short compact releases. Wilson/Mahomes are two right now.

Simply because it's costing us on 3rd and 4th downs right now. It's salient.

It also allows LB's and DB's extra time to read him and get in position for sticky coverage and make plays on balls.

But some of that is also on the OL too. I saw a perfect example with Tomlinson. He's pass protecting, stops, the DL jumps up and knocks it down, then Tomlinson resumes pushing him. Had he stayed pass protecting and physically engaged the DL doesn't get up in that lane.

The whole Josh Allen comparison with Trey Lance I really do not see at all. They are quite a bit different in my opinion. Josh's arm is much stronger and his release is much quicker. For running styles, Josh is much more physical and bigger where Lance is more agile and quick. Both have/had accuracy issues coming out of college but that's about all I see for similarities.

I think a QB Lance reminds me of is Jalen Hurts.

Lance isn't quick at all. Seems to me he's running in slow motion.

You're trippin

It makes it easier for the D line to knock down passes and to knock the ball out from behind. He doesn't need a super quick release but he brings th ball all the way down to his hip as he does his wind up. Just shorten it up a little and try and get a better spin on the ball. Lot's of wobbly passes that tended to sail a little high. Both of these are correctable.

On the good side we saw more passes beyond 20 yards and more runs from the QB that produced 1st downs. His first run of 14 yards was longer than any run JG has ever had (13). His total of 89 yards was higher than the best SEASON (62 total) that JG has had. We got a glimpse of what that running ability can do when it's needed. He turned possible sacks into 1st downs. Once he learns to spot the open receiver quicker he won't need to run as much but that threat will keep defenses honest.

IMO if they didn't have a billion holding calls, this game and play-calling would have been vastly different. We would have had more running plays (from the RB) and a lot more PA from under center.

They were constantly behind the chains...look at these stats, the fact that they still moved the ball is kinda shocking.

Still need to get more than yards, but If they cut down on the penalties they would have won IMO.

My God this has been a problem all year. Between Kyle's predictable runs on first downs to penalties on first downs, this offense has constantly been behind the 8-ball on 1st and longs and 2nd and 12+.

When I say this offense is all about first downs this is what I mean.

Yup. Penalties are killing us right now. Yesterday's game was very painful and frustrating to watch with all the penalties being called on the O-Line.

Me too, but then trade Jimmy now and stop the cap hemorrhaging, get a draft pick, and with rare exceptions stop with the designed Trey runs. let the running backs do the running, and teach Trey to be a pocket passer that exhausts those options first.

Unless Jimmy agrees to, they can't trade him until the 2022 offseason.
