Came back on here to say damn!! What a performance by DeMeco Ryans and the entire defense.

I hope thl or someone breaks down the tape. I won't have time to go through the All-22 but can't wait to see a breakdown of the multiple schemes and looks he ran. And how our defense evolved through the game because it seemed like on the first 1-2 drives, the Packers were getting easy money then after everything got shut down. It wasn't just the 1st drive -- even on the 2nd drive, I remember a few easy yards through slant-flat concepts, WR bubble to Adams in the slot, and easy hitch routes vs. Cover 4. Run game was clicking for the Pack on the 1st drive. Then we really bottled them up, but I couldn't tell why from watching the TV angle.

Maybe watching Saleh with the NYJ shows him that taking the right opportunity matters more than taking any opportunity. He might be sentimental about the Texans but that's a bad FO situation.

I don't want a DC who is running a completely different scheme. Thus I would prefer Saleh and Gus Bradley rather than Fangio and Zimmer.

90% of people on this forum don't understand scheme or how football works, I wouldn't even bother if I was you.

Demeco Ryans has been a real surprise this year for the 49ers and I hope he stays. Given he's only got one year experience he may want to wait a bit before taking on a HC role but who knows.

That said, a DC tends to look awfully good when their Dline is able to stuff the run and get after the passer with blitzing often.

Zimmer would help on the secondary. But I don´t think Kyle will look at him. I think Kyle prefers a guy his age.
I hope DeMeco is hired as HC for him but for us, please stay. The defense is unreal for weeks now.

This is a plea to Meco, from a big fan. I posted at start of yr that you would be a better DC than Saleh. Now for the rest of the equation:

You have performed incredibly well this yr and in GB game even made changes on the fly, not waiting for half time. Doubling DaVontae was one of them. Doubling Cobb at the same time was another. Point is you can diagnose as you go and make improvements as needed. Our 8 man DL is just awesome, and has wrecked the Rams. But Demeco, you obviously would like to have a HC job, but now is not the time. You have only 1 yr of experience in DCing after coaching LBs previously.

Problem is if you take whatever job is offered now, do you:

know how to OC? Know how to playcall/game all

know how to coach STs.

Know all you need to learn for how to draft…how to team build.

Know how to FA…and who to and not to acquire. …know who to re-sign and why

Know how to game plan both O and D….ST also

know how to pick out an ownership that will stick by you not make you a one and done HC.

Meco, when you have all these things done and accounted for, THEN you are ready. Just some advice, but don't take any job that is offered….look at your situation right now and does a leaderless NFL team have around you what you do now? JL and KS are as you know , exquisite in what they do.

if you take whatever job comes your way, you are cheapening yourself and not taking that really great position. It would behoove you to stick around here another couple yrs to learn how to really become a great HC.

Besides, we'd love for you to stay and pick up a SB ring or two, Before you accept anything , please give the above some thot. It would be a shame to finally get that nod, and then not be adequately prepared as to how to do it. So please stay, get the rest of your education, and THEN go be HC. Just because you turn one or more down this yr doesn't mean you won't be asked again , but next time when you are READY to be HC.

Just some friendly advice , Meco, and thanks for all you have done for us.

The creativity on the pass rushes has been unbelievable. He was on a rookie slump early on the season, when only Bosa was relevant.
When he began to get creative we saw sacks from Armstead, Key, DJ Jones, Givens, Street, Willis, Ebukam, and ocassionally on blitzes from the LBs.
He knows his CB are the weakness but has very smart safeties.

Didn't he interview with the Vikings today?

To be fair I think a lot of that is Kocurek, I'm sure Demeco works with him but the stunts and DL shifts are mainly Kris.

The timing of blitzes and mix of coverages are him though.

theres still more football to play.
