Or something was said by the FO that rubbed Deebo the wrong way. Who knows but I doubt that the 49ers would stop using him as a RB.

I'll tell you what I think happened. Paraag came with some low-ball offer during early negotiations; Deebo's agent tells him and he immediately feels disrespected after carrying the entire team and putting his body on the line; Deebo then sees all his peers around the league getting record deals. Deebo feels like this after all that:

Think about this. You are a star performer at your position at work and your boss asks you to increase your work load with extra manual labor. With the extra manual labor, your primary role at your titled position diminishes a bit. But you are a team player and will do whatever you are asked to do. Than when its time to negotiate a new salary, they low ball you at your primary position because you did exactly what they asked of you even at the expense of your primary jobs performance. If this is the case, I would be pissed also if I were Deebo.

Thing is in his own words he never got an offer. So it seems hes more upset they didn't value him in the timely manner he was expecting.

That very well could be true. I was purely speculating with my post.

Yeah. It feels as though this situation Is more than just money. The 9ers have done something to upset Deebo that's for sure.

Well if you feel your organization took too long in valuing your contributions it can definitely cause a rift. What Deebo doesn't seem to understand is thats just how the NFL works. TJ Watt didn't sign his big deal until training camp nearly started last year and he was damn near defensive MVP in 2020.

TJ Watt was robbed that year. No disrespect to AD but Watts been on a tear the last 2 years

Except that Deebo benefits the longer the 49ers wait. He is going to want to be the top paid player at his position. The longer the team waits, the more that number increases. If it's about money, Deebo has no room to complain, since he is going to get paid (if not by the 49ers, by some other team--he was a beast last year). If it's about something more...well, I tend to think people these days misinterpret a lot of actions for disrespect. That's not to say the team could / did not disrespect him, but that certain actions are about more than respect, and if you view everything through the lens of respect, you will always feel disrespected.
Deebo either wants to get paid, or he simply just wants to play somewhere else more appealing to his lifestyle.

If it's the first, fair. If it's the second? I hope he rides the bench for two years.

I'm still very pissed about that, Aaron Donald did not deserve defensive player of the year. TJ was easily the best player on defense d

Deebo will get extended before training camp and most likely after Jimmy G is traded to Carolina or Cleveland or granted his outright release (as long as Seattle gets Baker)

Well said. Not to mention your contemporaries are cashing in.

Great post, it's absolutely this, Deebo has done more for the team, who now want to pay him less.

To be fair to the team, they probably had a figure in mind that everyone would have been happy with, then the market changed. Going to be a tough negotiation, but it'll get done.

From the employers perspective the job we hired you for you did slightly above average. Hands not the greatest, route running mediocre drops. Let's be real Deebo was not an all pro his first two years as a receiver he had quite a few issues and still does. His main job a receiver is sometimes hard because he drops a ton of balls.

they move him to a job where he excels at and basically jump start his career and he still wants to be paid at a top level from a job they moved him from.

im just presenting their side but I'm with Deebo. Get your bag man. Should be paid more than Aj and less than mclauren a true no 1 receiver. If he wants more than Terry he has to find it elsewhere.

Those sentiments would hold up if you actually represent what he was in the 1st half of this season, which was top 3 in league. He had 1,000 yards in 9 games, but sure, that's above average.
